Definitely Luke.
Why?
Because
1) They both talk really fast.
2) They're both very similar AND very different from each other.

I loved how Lorelai would take him out to watch classic movies he's never seen before and he would always hate them all. :P And how they would always 'fight' (more like tease) over how much coffee Lorelai drinks.

Man oh man do I miss Gilmore Girls.

I'm torn for this one because each of Lorelai's main suiters had something I liked about them.

I thought Max was a sweet guy who really cared about Lorelai and I think if she hadn't panicked and cancelled the wedding at the last moment then they would have made a good couple and I think he would have been good for her.

Since the beginning of the series though, I have always wanted Lorelai and Christopher to get together. I've always thought that those two really belong together and it always just seemed to be an issue of timing, not love. But like halfway through the series, they decided to make Christopher a drunken, pinning idiot. He made a fool of himself at Emily and Richards marriage renewale and then he became Lorelai's rebound guy and almost pushed her into marriage and then was like nutty and jealous the whole time. WHoever was writing Christopher, wanted to make her a jerk. But when Lorelai and Christopher almost got together (before Sherri was pregnant) I was actually really excited.

Luke and Lorelai are obviously the most popular choice. He was kind of this unlikely match for her and harbored this crush on her for so long, some of us weren't sure they'd EVER get together. But then it happened and all sorts of stuff went down that was both good and bad. Lorelai always seemed resistant to Luke and the changes he brought with him and when Luke's daughter came into the picture there was a whole lot of lying and craziness. Once Luke was her boyfriend for a little while, I didn't like him as much, I much preferred the sexual tension and the kind of pinning they had.

So I don't know who I would pick as her perfect match. Obviously the end of the series we see that Luke and her and rekindled something, but I'm just not sure what I think.

I'm going to pick Luke over all of them. Max was okay, but there wasn't a huge spark. He was just sort of like the dependable family dog, you know? And I think Luke totally wins over Christopher, hands down. The central message of Gilmore Girls is that non-traditional family units can be as good or better than regular families with a mom and a dad and a kid and a pet. If they had ended the show with Lorelai and Christopher together, it would have been an affront to the whole point of the show! Plus, he is so immature and needy and selfish and is usually only a good father when he feels like it. I feel for GiGi.

Luke was horrible to Lorelai when he found out about April, and I hated him during that--it was really character assassination like nothing else--but he learned from it and realized that he was being a jerk.

My dad says Luke too, but I just don't know. Not that I have anything against Luke, but I just...I don't know, I always really wanted Lorelai and Christopher to work out. They made him awful though. They took this dad who liked to ride motercyles and wasn't exactly dependable finacially and love his daughter, and turned him into everything Emily and Richard wanted from a son and then turned him into this jackass jerk who got drunk and pinned for Lorelai and then into this rebound guy who was crazy jealous and push Lorelai too far.

I wanted Christopher to be the one Lorelai wanted to. Especially after they got married. I hated how that all played out. It was awful and painful to watch kind of the way Luke and Lorelai ending was awful and painful to watch.

I wish they hadn't screwed with those two characters so much.

I still like Max though and I think Max really liked her. Poor Max.

Yes, poor Max. He was genuinely a nice guy. But Lorelai didnt' have all that much chemistry with him.

What was the name of the guy she went fishing with? She only went on like one date with him, and he secretly made reservations at a nice hotel for dinner because he knew she didn't really like fishing. I kinda liked him, even though he had like 0.2 seconds of screen time.

Meimei, I'm with you 110 percent. Lorelai and Christopher definitely belonged together, and if you rewatch the early seasons, that's clearly how it should've been. But, like you said, the writers started doing some hardcore character assassination halfway through. But something as simple as Lorelai's phone call to him during her bachelorette party was a perfect example of how great they were together.

Aw, I remember that phone call! It was really one of those things that just showed how much they really and trully belonged together even though it had taken them so long to get there. I really thought in the end they would be together, but I think Luke and Lorelai became the more popular couple and so they went for that.

They did terrible things to Chris. The whole Emily and Richard's wedding debacle, and Chris being in cahoots with Emily was just kind of a WTF??? And then when Lorelai and him finally got together they put everything in the way and made him a jealous jerk and someone who pushed Lorelai when she was SOOOO obviously not ready.

They butchered Luke too, but not as bad as Chris if you as me.

Deb: I sort of remember who you're talking about, but my mind is drawing a blank.

This is so Luke, there's not even a question. I didn't mind Max or Christopher, but Luke was her soulmate from the start.
