1/9/08 Gossip Girl couples

Do you guys watch Gossip Girl? It's one of my favorite new shows this year, and tonight's episode is the last one we'll have in a long while. Who are you favorite couples on the show and why?

Hmmm....thats a good question. I think Chuck and Blaire were made for each other. They are both awful people who really only think of themselves and their own self interest. They have some feelings as we have seen displayed, but they both hide them behind a mask of cool indifference.

Dan and Serena seem...nice. Sometimes I think Serena is trying harder than Dan to make it work, but maybe that is just me.

Blair and Nate have serious problems. There was that whole, sleeping with the BFF thing and then basically, Blair was a lot more into Nate than Nate was into her. They just don't balance well.

I think my favorite couple though overall would have to be Jenny and Serena's brother (who we don't see often enough so his name escapes me at the moment). Its cute puppy love from two people who haven't been corupted yet, at least not entirely.

Ooh, I love Jenny and Serena's brother too. But the best couple is, hands down, Rufus and Lily. They belong together.

I have to second that Chuck and Blair seem to fit better together than Nate and Blair. But I have to admit that I like Nate better than Chuck even though Nate might be a bit boring. But Chuck seems mostly egoistic, only in it for himself and sometimes outright evil and mean.

Serena and Dan might have the least screwed-up relationship on the show, though I sometimes feel like Serena respects Dan, his background and his way of thinking more than Dan does this with Serena.
I know that Dan and Serena seem to be the one true pairing but as an alternative I actually wouldn't mind Vanessa and Dan, they are just so more similar to each other (though opposites attract).

Jenny and Eric are cute, but I fear that Jenny might be already too corrupted for Eric.

And now I'll have to admit that I actually wanted Rufus and Allison to get back together, if only because I like it if couples can reconcile after overcoming their differences. Now that never happened, plus I think that Allison was portrayed in a kinda unfortunate way, being rather unlikable. But I'm also ok with Rufus/Lily and I'm kinda curious if they'll eventually end up together in the end (most likely yes, since this is TV).

I do like Rufus and Lily, they seem kind of like star crossed lovers. Like they were always meant to be.

I do agree with you Lila that Allison was potrayed very badly. They wanted her to be the bad guy and that's exactly what she was. They should have had her leave Rufus or Rufus and Allison should have gotten back together and stayed together. The short time in which she was a part of their life again was confusing and contrived as it seemed only to be done to make Allison out to be the bad guy.

I worry about Jenny being too corupt for Eric too, but I don't think she has passed the no fly zone as far as forgetting who she is and where she comes from. She so desperately wants to be like Blair and the other girls is clouding her from seeing who she really is, if you ask me. Still, they have a sweet kind of relationship.

Ooh, yeah, I like Rufus and Lily. It was so sad when Rufus finally put himself out there, and Lily had to go and accept Bart Bass' proposal. I also like Nate and Jenny. I hope they explore that more next season because they were starting to connect. I think that might happen, now that Jenny looks like she's trying to take over Blair's spot as Queen B. But my real favorite couple are Nate and Chuck. LOL. They are always and forever!

LOL Nate + Chuck forever! Hahaha.

Yeah there was some sparks between Jenny and Nate, but she's a little young for him. Maybe next season.

Yay, Nate and Chuck! Best couple ever on Gossip Girl!

I wouldn't actually mind Nate and Jenny, although she seems a bit too young for him. But they could get together so that Chuck and Blair can get together too. I'm actually quite curious as to how a Chuck/Blair relationship would turn out.
Then again, that leaves poor cute Eric all alone. But after the last episode I somehow think that he's too good for Jenny (it kind of changed my opinion of Jenny a bit towards the negative side).

I havent really watched the last two episodes, so I can't agree or disagree on that point, but I will be watching them this weekend and then I can comment.
