| They could have let Tristen stay on and after introducing Jess it would have been a love "quadrangle". I don't think he left for OTH; imdb says he was on GG 2000-2001 and on OTH from 2003. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0614877/

| Tristan was sooo annoying on Gilmore Girls. So was Dean imho. I liked Jess. :P

Poor Dean was just so love sick over Rory and Rory treating him so badly. I just couldn't believe some of the things she put him through the season after she kissed Jess for the first time. She really did a number on him if you ask me. I thought Jess was such a punk when he was first put on the show, but once he started maturing, I really started to grow fond of him. I wanted her to dump Logan and run off with Jess once it got closer to the end of the series.

I really hated him because he acted like this rich kid who could do anything he wants. Remember when he was making fun of Jess in the bad because he wasn't as rich as him? ...And just when I started to accept Logan, he had to go and do a thing like that.

And I never liked Logan very much either, Jess is the man for her. But as the ending was left open concerning Rory's love life, maybe they do get together and we get to see it in "Gilmore Girls - the movie".

| I'll chime in a bit on this debate: Dean FTW! Tristan sucked, and CMM was way too sub-par of an actor to do well. BTW, I believe he left to do a recurring role on Dawson, and followed that up with the failed Pilot for a Long Ranger series. And Jess, I hated him, up until he came back to Rory's dorm in college and begged to be taken back. Also, how weird is it that all Rory's boyfriends go on to success as Leading Men in dramas: CMM in OTH, Milo in Heroes, Jared in Supernatural. Matt Czuchry is just a year or two away from stardom. |

| Moderator ![]() ![]() | Well Dean did put up with a lot with the whole Jess thing, but he broke up with her. I think he was in love with Rory enough to try and convince himself that Rory loved him back, but after she couldn't stop talking about Jess at the Dance Marathon, and how he was trying to make her jealous and all that blah, blah, blah, he got fed up and left. I was glad he did it too, he didn't deserve to be treated like that. And I never hated Jess, but I hate issues with him until he left and came back later a little more mature. And I never liked Logan. I think he was a pompous a$$ from start to finish. He was just this rich kid who thought he could have whatever he wanted and he looked down on people who weren't as rich as him. They attempted to make him a better person, but I just never bought it. I still say I like Tristen, of course Tristen's role on the show was like 5 or 6 years ago...maybe I just thought he was cute back than. Haha I mean I was like 16.

| There's no telling, because they wasted the potential of Tristen, imo. But I think the difference between Tristen and Logan is that while Tristen was mean to Rory it was more like a "pulling a girl's hair in the elementary schoolyard, because you like her"-thing (at least as I remember it, but like mei said, it's been a while), while Logan was just an arrogant rich kid who thought that everyone with less money was below him on principle. Like mei I never bought his change for the better, I always feared that he'd do something really really mean to Rory.

| Moderator ![]() ![]() | Yeah I had the pulling pig tails impression too. He was kind of a jerk and mean but I think there was more to him that we barley got to see. And had he continued on Gilmore Girls, certainly that would have been an interesting storyline.

| Hold on now! I must step in here to defend Logan. I liked him a lot! I thought he was the best-suited for Rory. Dean was too much of a love-sick puppy dog for the long-run. I thought he was the best first boyfriend a girl could ever have (I think Lorelai said that once), but he's the kind of guy you love in high school and then think fondly of in your middle age, but not your lifelong partner. He could barely hold up his end of the conversation with Rory! I didn't like Jess when he was a punk kid who didn't like to join things. He was all wrong. But I do like how he grew up and matured and started to find out what he's really passionate about. He's the kind of guy Rory should be with in her mid-20s. And then there's Logan. Sure, he can be kind of an ass sometimes, but he was the only one who had the snappy wit to keep up with Rory. And he might be a little bit entitled, but he was never as arrogant or condescending as Colin or Finn. He was smart and interesting and fit in well with a lot of people. Once he started to realize that he needed to step up and mature, he was a whole lot nicer too.
