The WGA writers strike that started Monday hurts all scripted shows and all of TV, but no one is hurt more than new shows who are attempting to find an established audience.  If the strike were to last more than a few months and force networks to halt production on scripted TV until Fall 2008 (at the earliest), are audiences going to remember the ten or so episodes of the new shows that debuted in Fall 2007?  Established series have DVDs and a back-log of episodes that can flitter around in viewers' memories.  How will a series like Pushing Daisies, a show that, I imagine, relies on the momentum and rhythm of preceding episodes to inform its content, fare if put on hold for an extended period of time.  Will its audience come back?  How short will ABC's leash be?  How many more new episodes will fans get to see before the drought begins?

Same here, this is by far the best new series and THE BEST comedy on TV period IMO. I'm puting my girls to bed at 8:00 so I rely on watching it online the next day. The writers deserve to be paid for that, so I will gladly wait till next year if need be.

I will wait forever, albeit impatiently, for Daisies to come back on the air. I love the show to pieces and will die a slow death inside if I were to never find out how the show concludes. Ned and Chuck are too adorable and will hopefully survive this small roadblock on their road to everlasting love. Long live Nuck!

I would wait for this show. I really hope I don't have to though, and the networks give the writers what they deserve so that they can get back to work happy.

This has been the first Television season in YEARS where I have actually been excited about the shows and look forward to sitting down and watching them each night. I will definately be interested in seeing the new episodes of Pushing Daisies no matter when I get to see them. However, the less downtime the happier I'll be!

BY FAR my favorite show on television, and while waiting for more than a week for a new episode will be tough, were a new episode to air I would be there no matter what.

Pushing Daisies did NOT come one here last night!!! I was so disappointed! Is it b/c of the strike? It says in the article above that the next episode will be the 14...soooo excited! But I just wanna make sure I didn't miss one. Was the last episode the one about Olive being a Jockey?

This is one of my favorite new shows. I hope the networks realize how many people like it and keep it on air once the strike is over.
