Default Kenley!

If anyone ever reads/looks at my bulletins, you'll know i'm not one for discussing television programming...BUT, i've been watching project runway for 3 seasons now (even though i still haven't seen season 1 or 4) and tonight's episode was...ahhhmazing.

I'm not a big fan of season viewing; watching, let alone continually tuning in to weekly episodes - but Project Runway, even on their 5th season, makes me go, "wow".

There's that deep root in me that says, "Jerell can dish it out." I'm personally not a fan of his designs, but he can mix it up and always (except for tonight [ugh]) makes it look great. Leann, besides her, I'm-so-misunderstood-therefore-i'm-going-to-design-high-fashion persona, can definitely produce high fashion designs...that, even i, might actually buy. Korto (sp? - 'cause I really don't care) is always fashioning outrageous looks that only target (at a complete makeover by low-grade designers) would ever retail. Kenley, by comparison continually hits the nail on the mother f'n head. Yes, her look is 1920's-1950s but c'mon people - maybe that's just it! our current (successful) fashions always dwell on previous spectacular innovations. Flared jeans are still selling like crazy, flower prints from the 70's are still being violently plucked off the shelves, and conservative yet casual (yes, oxymoron, but bear with me) are still continually purchased by the white-collar-fashion-cautious crowds. Maybe Kenley has it. Perhaps she has the vision the fashion industry needs to whole-(or even half) heartedly consider - a merger of 1920's and 1950's fashion is her forte! Not only does she put all of herself into her designs, she MAKES THEM WORK.

So you say we need something new? I think we'll see it at fashion week. I think the great Ms.
Kenley will wow us with something only she could do - combine the 1920's with the 1950's. if she doesn't, maybe i'll have to take up sewing. Regardless, you all know who my vote is for. Maybe she's argumentative, maybe she's stubborn - but if you were defending something you put every ounce of your self into...wouldn't you be?

Kenely is good when she's doing retro. Other than that, she's horrible. She really should've been booted for that terrible "hip hop" design, but I have a feeling she got protection from the producers because the show would lose the "drama" without her. Plus, she's a selfish little cry baby who can't take even the softest constructive criticism. Basically, though, she's just not as good as the other three.
