Project Runway: Christian Siriano to Create a Dress for Tony Awards Host

Christian Siriano has come a long way from bagging the prizes on season 4 of Project Runway, when he was just a mere 21 years old. Since then, he’s been making huge waves in the fashion industry, and has worked for Puma and Bluefly. In fact, he’s also made appearances in several events and TV shows. Earlier this year, he appeared as celebrity guest on Make Me a Supermodel, and appeared as himself in the primetime hit dramedy, Ugly Betty, where he also designed some of the cast’s costumes.

Inspired by theater costumes as a young boy, Siriano began his career as a freelance make-up artist for Stila cosmetics while designing wedding gowns for clients. When a friend’s mother suggested that he audition for Project Runway, he took it into consideration and eventually landed a spot among the finalists. His successful stint on Project Runway brought him a lot of attention and with this comes his new project—a dress for the next Tony Awards host.
