why did they go after lincoln's family?

I was looking over the first season and I still dont see why they went after Lincoln's family since they werent part of any plans. Can anyone enlighten me on this? maybe im just blind

They went after his family to try to keep Linc and his lawyers quiet. Atleast that is how I saw things.

From what I understand, Linc's dad had something to do with the conspiracy, but bailed out on it. In order to get back to him, they zeroed in on Linc to take the fall for the VP's bro "dying." The conspirators are just trying to hit Burrows Senior where it hurts.

In the one episode a black woman came to talk to Lincoln. He thought that she was a reporter who wanted to tell his side of the story but as it turned out she was just trying to get info out of him about what his lawyers were doing. Then she threatened him that if he doesn't call the lawyers off they would go after LJ. Since he didn't heed to her threat, Agent Hale and Keller went to kill Lincoln's son. I think that LJ's mother and step father were only killed because they got in the way.

Yeah, that's right, BreakingOut.. LJ managed to snap a photo of Kellerman on his cellphone and got away after that, but had to get rid of his cellphone eventually because they were tracking LJ via his cellphone. An unfortunate loss.. at least Nick and Veronica were able to get him before the agents did.

yeah but the picture would still be in his email. maybe it'll come back up later on.

LJ emailed that to someone from his phone BEFORE he ditched it. I was SURE. So I wouldn't be surprised if that picture showed up in Season 2 somewhere to someone. But who???
I may have to go back and watch that one again. Just to make sure.

Yes they did go after lincoln's family and I agree it was because the black lady that visited him in jail said he had to die or else.
BUT to trace it back further why was Lincoln there in the first place? Because HIS dad worked for "The Company" and when he found out how crooked them were he tried to get out. When he went to work for them he probably it was 'for the good of his country'.
I am sure he would have NEVER done it if he knew it would cost him his family.
I am not sure where Dad is now but I am sure he will resurface sometime in season 2.
