Post Wentworth's Screenplay Inspirations

I decided to view the two out of the three movies Wentworth mentioned as inspirations for his screenplay (The Stepfather and Shadow of a Doubt) and even though I saw The Stepfather a long time ago, I do not remember very much. I have searched on Netflix.com and Amazon.com and they both seem to only bring up The Stepfather II. It's as if it does not exist on tape or DVD anymore.

Does anyone know where I can buy or download that movie? I have just finished watching Shadow of a Doubt and it was pretty good. If you have Comcast Cable go to On Demand, Free Movies, and scroll down until you see Hitcock Hits.

Post I believe you are right

He was also in a few episodes of Alias. I would just like to see The Stepfather so when Wentworth's movie comes out, I can relate to it.

Question Still wondering...

Does anyone know where I can buy or download the movie The Stepfather? It does not seem to be listed on Netflix.com or Amazon.com.

Thanks for your help.

I work in a music/movie store, and I contacted our movie rep to see if Stepfather is available on DVD. Apparently the original movie isn't available on DVD yet. Only Stepfather 2 and 3 are available because those movies are owned by a different company than the original movie. I did find a link on Amazon to buy copies of the original VHS if that helps at all....

Post Thanks Georgia

That helps a lot. I would like to get all three on DVD but will settle for the VHS for now. I wonder why it is so hard to find? Does it have to do with the director or the publishing house?

It is up to the actual company, like Sony Pictures, etc. to release movies in DVD format.
