Cool Random Trivia

Here is some random trivia about the actors/actresses of PB. I will start with Wentworth, and add other trivia of other actors/actresses as I come across it. Enjoy!

Wentworth Miller trivia, facts, and quotes:

Wentworth Miller has two different colored eyes. His right one is hazel and his left one is green.

Wentworth: If there was a place that was ever haunted, it would be Joliet.

Wentworth: Definitions belong to the definers, not the defined.

Wentworth says his Ivy League education helps his acting as well: "I certainly learned how to break down a text at Princeton," he says, "which helps me break down a script – or at least that's the line I feed my parents when they start wondering where all that good money went."

Wentworth Classifies himself as "a fairly boring person": "I go to the library, I do a lot of reading, I eat at Subway. When I need some boxers I go to the Gap."

Wentworth's mother is a special-ed teacher and his father is a former Brooklyn assistant district attorney.

Wentworth's mother is white; his father is black. They are now divorced.

Wentworth was the voice of the evil robot plane EDI in this year's Stealth.

About filming the hit show 'Prison Break' in an actual prison: "The strange thing is, you get used to it. There is a pervasive atmosphere of gloom and doom, but sometimes you’re outside in the prison yard and the grass is green and the sun is shining and you’re hanging out with the cast and crew, and you forget. You’re having a good time. And then you’ll suddenly remember that if you were an actual inmate, you’d only be outside for an hour a day."

As of 2006, Wentworth resides in Chicago.

Wentworth recently claimed in a magazine that he did not open the cat shelter allegedly opened in some rumours, on the grounds that he is deathly allergic to animals.

Wentworth(on working out for Prison Break): I made a decision not to work out because I'm lazy and also, the character is not a superhero. I didn't want him to be a buff guy with Jackie Chan moves because the point is he's smarter than your average Joe.

Wentworth: This has been the biggest year of my professional life. I get to "play ball" with incredible character actors. When you're sharing screen time with Robert Knepper, Wade Williams, or Peter Stormare, you're just along for the ride. I remember watching Law & Order and thinking that Sam Waterston served up amazing work episode after episode. I told me representation to forget about feature films--if I can get a series, how satisfying will that be? You're working with people you admire, and you're on every week being appreciated. It's like winning the lottery. One in a million. (edit)
Wentworth: My character [in Prison Break] needs to be formidable. In reality, I'm not very tough at all.

Wentworth: My last meaningful relationship was about a year ago and lasted only a few months, but it was hot and heavy; those are the best kind.

Wentworth: I've been busted for rolling through a stop sign or two, but that's the closest I've come [to being arrested].

Wentworth: I haven’t been working out in a while, I appreciate that it [the tattoo] adds shading and contours where there are none."

Wentworth looks around the prison for inspiration: "The prison helps a great deal in keeping me grounded in the character."

When Wentworth walks in public with the body art from Prison Break, "...people look at [him] with, well, not newfound respect but perhaps suspicion."

Wentworth's popularity went up 614% on The Lycos 50, since Prison Break premiered on FOX.

Wentworth was a part of a group called the Tigertones while attending Princeton; they recorded two albums.

Wentworth(about being in prison): I wouldn't last long. I'd get shanked in, like, five minutes.

Wentworth has campaigned against drug-use appeared in anti-drug ads.

Wentworth was named "TV's Hottest New Face" in Insider Magazine, the week of October 24th-30th, 2005.

On Prison Break, Wentworth says, "There are deeper emotional and psychological issues at work here."

Wentworth(on his character in Prison Break): Michael was a success in his pre-prison life. He had a career, friends, girlfriends, and yet he was willing to throw that away and go to jail to save his brother. That's not something your average Joe would do.

Anna Devere Smith(his co-star in Human Stain: I did love working with Wentworth. He’s really an extraordinary, interesting young man.

Wentworth enjoys the following quote from Toni Morrison's Beloved: "Definitions belong to the definers and not the defined."

Wentworth worked at Borders for two years before getting his break in acting.

As a kid, Wentworth's nickname was "Stinky."

One of Wentworth's secret talents is a capella singing. He used to be a member of Princeton's all male glee club.

Wentworth's favorite tv show is Law and Order.

Wentworth was born in England, but raised in New York.

Wentworth: I think the character I play [on Prisonbreak] is potentially sexy.

Wentworth: I'm kind of a dork. I don't have much game. I'm not particularly comfortable in bars or clubs. I much prefer being home playing Scrabble, having dinner with a couple friends, going to see a movie, or losing a whole weekend to Season 14 of Law and Order or The Simpsons.

Wentworth: I'm neither sexy nor a star.

Wentworth says he's currently "single and too busy to date now."

One of Wentworth's favorite horror movies is The Shining.

As a child one of Wentworth's favorite movies was Time Bandits.

Wentworth: I wrote it [my thesis] on the idea of doubling and the gender identity construct in Jane Eyre and The Wide Sargasso Sea...

Are any of your tattoos on the show real?
Wentworth: No. It's really not my thing, but it is a treat to become someone who's 50 percent tattooed. The whole pleasure of being an actor is trying out things you don't have to take home with you at night.

In the movie Stealth, Wentworth was the voice of EDI.

One of Wentworth's favorite movies is Dangerous Liaisons.

One of Wentworth's favorite horror movies is Carrie.

Wentworth is named after his father, Wentworth Miller II.

Wentworth(how he came to be an actor): Acting has always been a passion, and I did it all the way up until college.

Wentworth (about his co-star in The Human Stain, Anthony Hopkins): The man is a legend and I've always been a huge fan of his work.

Wentworth talks about himself: “I’m pretty much a couch potato.”

Wentworth: You might look at my CV and see I've had 12 jobs, but I've been to over 450 auditions so I've heard 'no' a lot more than I've heard 'yes'. So if I go in looking only to meet my own standards, then that will make taking that rejection a little bit easier. And when I do get that job it will seem like icing on the cake.

Wentworth says, "When I got to college, acting suddenly seemed like a very risky proposition and all my friends were going to law school or med school or Wall Street."

There are 30 decals in the tattoo Wentworth has in Prison Break.

Wentworth graduated from Quaker Valley Senior High School in Leetsdale, Pennsylvania in 1990.

Wentworth appears in Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together" and "It's Like That" videos.

Before he became an actor, Wentworth was a lowly production assistant for several tv movies.

Wentworth is 6'1" tall.

The stylist on the Prison Break set uses Oster Turbo 111 Clippers ($179.99) to shave Wentworth and his co-stars' hair.

Interesting facts!!

I had expected you'd do Dominic first, considering you're a bigger fan of him than any of the other actors. lol

Thanks for posting that information. I have yet to learn much about the actors so reading your long list there was cool. Wentworth seems like a very intelligent but down to earth guy. Not at all like the typical Hollywood actor.

I had a huge list of facts/trivia/quotes on Dom. But I accidentally closed the wrong window and lost it all before I submitted it. I am so mad at myself. I will try to compile the list again tomorrow. But Dom is a very private person, and it took me an hour of searching and hard work to come up with what I did. I could just kick myself.

Alright, I'm going to try this again, this time without closing the wrong window. Thank goodness for the "view history" feature. I didn't find quite everything I had yesterday, but this should do for now.

Dominic Purcell trivia, facts, and quotes:

Full Name: Dominic Haakon Myrtvedt Purcell

Born: February 17, 1970

Born to a Norwegian father and Irish mother.

He is a father of 4 children, Joe, Audrey and twins Lily and Gus.

At the age of two, Dominic and his family moved from England to Sydney's Bondi and then moved to the Western Suburbs.

Did all of his own stunts in the sword fight scene against Blade in Blade: Trinity.

Dominic on training for Blade: Trinity: "I got big for BLADE: TRINITY. I was 210 pounds, eating nine meals a day and training six days a week. It bored me ****less."

In 2000, he won a green card lottery and now resides in Los Angeles, California with his wife, Rebecca and their four children.

Dominic on speaking American: "I got to the US in 2000 and I found it really difficult to go in and out of my Australian and American accent. It was getting in the way of my acting. I was turning up to auditions and my confidence was shot because it was all about my f***ing accent. And Anthony LaPaglia is a good friend of mine. He says, “Dom, just speak American all the time. No one f***ing knows, speak American.” And I did. It made life so much easier. Then I got John Doe. F**k it was saving. I was doing 18-hour days. I credit speaking American…. it was a blessing because I am not one of these actors that go in and out all the time. And I have been speaking like this for five or six years. Now this show has blown up in Australia, you get on the phone to an Aussie and they’re like, [in an Aussie accent] “You f***ing cop out!” It’s a pain in the butt but f**k it. I am still an Aussie boy, I just speak with an American accent. I get Direct TV over here. I still watch the cricket and the footy."

And one more on speaking American: "She [his wife,Rebecca] is Australian. Me speaking with an American accent at first was hard for her. She looked at me like, “You f***ing idiot.” She didn’t mind it because she understood why I had to do it. But when we got into fights and arguments it just gave her so much ammunition. “Speak to me in Australian!” But now she’s OK with it. It’s no problem."

Dominic is contracted for 7 seasons on Prison Break.

Dominic on television: "I am not into TV at all. My favorite show is Fuel TV, which is all about surfing and skating and national geographic. And my favorite show is Entourage."

On music: "I'm not into the techno funk thing. I like to sing along in the shower and not be overwhelmed by the noise. I love classical music and the bag pipes. I'm a bit of a dag, really."

On America: "I love America. I love the chances it can give you. That's not to say I'm never going to visit home, Australia. I'd like someday to have a couple of houses."

Dominic on going nude in the John Doe pilot episode: "Oh, the old nude scene. In the first scene, I'm naked there. That's me lying down. That's me. You will see my ass! A lot of sit-ups before that, let me tell you. The nude thing's not a problem for me, as long as it's done in the right context. They did do it very tastefully."

Originally a landscaper, Purcell decided to switch career paths after finding that most landscaping helmets did not fit his unusually large head.

He attended the prestigious Australian Theatre for Young People. He completed his theatrical training at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts alongside fellow actors Hugh Jackman and Frances O'Connor. Upon graduation, Purcell obtained a leading role in the Australian television series Raw FM.
