| Fox to Sell Content Online Twentieth Century Fox has reportedly announced that it is planning to sell movies and TV shows on MySpace.com and other sites that are owned by Richard Murdoch's News Corporation. The content will be available online for purchase in October. It will include hit TV shows such as 24, and Prison Break; and movies including X-Men: The Last Stand, Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties, The Omen, and Thank You for Smoking. More content will be added later. Upon purchase, content will be made available for downloading through Fox's Direct2Drive service owned by Fox's IGN Entertainment. It is learnt that each episode of 24 and Prison Break will be made available within 24 hours of broadcast. The Direct2Direct service, which is currently being used for video game downloads alone, will be extended to the movie download market as well. Users will be charged $19.99 for every movie purchase, and $1.99 per TV episode. They will be provided license for downloading onto two Windows PCs, whereas videos will be able to be transferred onto a portable device. According to reports, as of now, sales will be limited to the US only. *Thats~sUcks.. |
