Post Fox Fixes PB Bonus Foulup

Source: http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=6234

Earlier today we posted a brief story about how Fox was putting together a plan to fix the situation with Target's Prison Break bonus discs. You see, both Target and Best Buy were each supposed to get specially marked copies of the first season of Prison Break, each with a different exclusive bonus DVD: Best Buy's was to have the 26 "mobi-sodes" (mobile phone episodes) produced buy Toyota, and Target's was to have an extra "Behind the Walls" featurette. Many Target customers got the mobi-sodes disc instead!

Late in the day Fox supplied us with the following information about how they would go about correcting this situation. Here is their statement to us:
  • The Target and Best Buy customer's who receive the incorrect disc can call the 800 number below and we will send them the correct disc. Fox will pay for shipping and handling on the new disc.
    888-223-2369

But has Target gotten the word on this yet? Yes! One of our readers, who works at a Target store, told us that this message was distributed late this afternoon via the chain's internal network:
  • Any Target guest that receives the incorrect bonus DVD can call (88 223-2369 and Fox Studios will send a copy of the Target exclusive DVD to the guest ASAP.
Thanks to Fox for their co-operation, and to our reader for their help. In the event that Target takes issue with their employee discussing this matter with us, we've chosen to protect this person's identity. This assistance is exactly the opposite of the reaction we've gotten regarding a situation with another Target bonus item. For those wondering about last week's situation with Target stores not getting copies (enough copies, or in some store's cases, no copies at all) of the Beavis and Butt-head - Volume 3 package that was advertised as containing two extra cartoons, there has been no word yet from either Target or MTV/Paramount on the matter. Multiple calls we have placed to MTV have not been returned, as of this writing.

It's tempting, but I would feel bad about it if I did it. So I'm not sure I'll go through with it.
