of course its not going to be better than the first season, no other season ever will but you cant say it sucked though. Prison break, Heroes, and LOST are the only shows that are truly entertaining IMO. There are always some filler episodes that suck but not every episode can be a huge blockbuster.

A a point which bugs me if anyone could be as kind enough to address. What happened to charles wesmorlands, 5 million dollars, they did not seem to recover it, im sure its still lying in the river all wet and soggy probably eaten by the fish by now. Micheal owed some of that to his daughter which he never got to her who iss probably dead by now anyway. So wheres micheal running off too now, with non of that money, hows he gonna survive, live etc, hes still wanted in the states for escaping or is he now that Lincolns been exonerated.

I've been thinking more about this Mahone thing......and here are some thoughts I had. It should be said that I have read Lord of the Rings, but I'm not a fan. I'm just beginning to think that these characters are written largely to mirror others in famous literature/theatre. (On the side -- Sucre's meeting with the Mexican man in Season 2 is a tribute to the beginning of Les Miserables) Mahone = Gollum Conflicted character looking for redemption....eventually turns bad through understanding that he can't go back to the life he once enjoyed. He is consumed by guilt and uncertainty as to what his future can hold for him. Linc = Sam Treats Mahone (Gollum) with callousness and disrespect, because he feels he really understands that Mahone's (Gollum's) motives are impure. Michael = Frodo Charged with an important task, is largely reluctant, but sets aside personal misgivings for the fate of others. Last to sin, and is the moral center of the story.

You're not a fan of Lord of the Rings?? I like the thought you put into this, and I can definitely see where you are coming from....and see some similarities. However, I don't know if the characters who be classified as being modeled after them.....the similarities don't weigh out the differences... I don't think we can classify Mahone as someone who is giving into the circumstances he has been dealt....We've seen him meet with Whistler and it would appear he is working with him now....but we weren't given enough information to know for sure....it's too soon to make any assertions.

Points noted....but I said modeled after others in literature, not just LOTR. I can come up with any number of great stories of conflicts that have the themes this show does....which is precisely why I like PB. I'm not just thinking of the characters in this show, but of who they remind me of. I think the LOTR connection is really interesting....it just makes perfect sense to me that the show would have to really focus in on telling a story now that the characters are off on their separate directions....and most story-telling techniques are often remade and rewritten as tributes. There are only so many methods and themes of character development. The LOTR is out in the front for me.....it just seems that it was the writers intent to take that dynamic in these last few episodes. Last edited by joeyjoejoe : 03-18-2008 at 07:59 PM.

I get the point you were trying to make...I was only saying I didn't believe they used these characters as models for their own
