Default S3E11: Under and Out Discussion

Lots of moving pieces.....I really liked this one. For one, smiley couldn't be happier with the plot with Whistler. And I LOVED that the promo for next week teased us with a Season 4.

What to think? Hrmm.....Very interesting to see that Whistler has been telling the truth, if I were Michael I'd feel much better about working with him. I had my doubts about Whistler, but you really saw his human side in this one. I have to tip my hat to Chris Vance for an excellent acting job in his scenes opposite Susan too.

I did think the Sucre detainment was a little hackneyed though.....he sabotages the jeep and is held in the "office" for like 12 hours? What was up with that? That seems like lazy writing.

I find it interesting that the guard didn't say who had a warrant out for Sucre's arrest. I'd just as easily assume it was an American warrant, but do people really check FOREIGN references like that? It was totally unexpected though, I guess that makes me happy.

Linc using a bus to take out a power line just seems like Linc. I thought he was gonna use some electrician knowledge, from the Utah episodes of last season. But no....hulk smash!

Ruh-roh on T-Bag and Mahone. I think Mahone's decision to go last was great, he can always keep an eye on PB's redneck pedophile. Good foreshadowing that one will impede or kill the other, that's honestly what I'm looking forward to. I also loved the philosophical discussion they had in the tunnel, where Mahone calls T-Bag someone that didn't deserve to live, and T-Bag threw it right back in his face. He doesn't realize what a piece of crap he is, and it's why everyone loves to hate him.

Now I have to go back and watch some of the earlier episodes to research what was up with Whistler's contact. I feel better and better that Kellerman is alive, here is my original post on that thought:

You know, our imaginations did go a little wild with all the possibilities surrounding Whistler's character. Yes, it appears that he is a fisherman, but he did make a reference to working with the company, not realizing how corrupt they really were. How extensive was this involvement?? Did they just approach him about the information he is currently withholding? Or, did he slowly realize just how deeply he had gotten himself into a mess? Whatever the case may be, we know he isn't the evil guy we thought he could be....merely a guy who got in way over his head. What I found interesting was the part where he asked Mikey if he would still try to escape if he wasn't faced with the task of breaking him out....Whistler seemed to allude to his guilt, and I got the feeling it extended beyond what he was locked up for.
Maybe he assumed a fake identity of someone who had a warrant issued against them?? It isn't like he would have thought to do a thorough background check on the person's identity that he assumed.

I saw that as Whistler trying to see if he could trust Michael. Another angle could be that Whistler didn't want to ruin anyone else's life through the escape, that he would have to live with the responsibility of whatever happened to any of the other escapees. That just makes me think higher of him to be honest.

Well he's either got an American warrant or a fake identity warrant with an added charge of identity theft. I think he's going into Sona, and maybe the brothers will come to his aid? Who knows?

That makes sense....he was definitely in a position where he didn't know who to trust and who was working with whom.

If I had to guess, I'd say Whistler got in over his head. I'm not quite so sure about this whole coordinate business though........what did he have to figure out? Either he had the coordinates or he didn't. Me thinks those "coordinates" Whistler gave Susan are grade A B.S.

I'm really pumped up with what they are doing with Michael, he has been getting edgier since the end of Photo Finish. I forgot who he told off at the beginning of this episode in their pre-breakout pow-wow....but that was hardcore.

I am excited too, I want him to do a Maximus from Gladiator: plunge a blade into Susan's head and then break off the handle. I want to wait a week so that I can tell everyone I know to watch it and keep it on the air!!

* Smiley claps her hand repetitively in much excitement..... *

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!! Smiley has not yet seen this episode..... due to the fact that Sky TV is a week behind..... (hint hint.... any bright spark who can provide Smiley with a link to ep... would be deemed brilliant by Smiley... forever)......But I have noticed by these last few comments and in a few other threads.... that the tide of doubt towards the lovely Whistler is slowly changing into one of a little more belief in his story!!! Hahahahahahahaha..... Smiley feels so much more confident in her intuition..... now!!!!!

So Whistler is showing a more human side..... LOL!!!....He's been trying to do that for the last few weeks....

We wait ..... in anticipation to see the lovely Whistler .....totally believed!!!

Keep the faith....LOL!!! YEAH!!!!

Joeyjoejoe.... I generally like your comments.... you put a lot of thought into what you post.... balancing just the right amount of humour with common sense etc.... You'll fit right in with the rest of our mad bunch in here!!!!

Come on, people, that's just an act! All he needs to do is show a bit of desperation for Sofia and you all do a smiley and sing the Innocent Fisherman Song? I have not detailed theory why Whistler goes through the trouble of this act in front of Whistler and Linc (besides making Michael comfortable - but that's not really necessary as Michael break him out anyway), but there's a reason behind this, and the reason's not that he's genuine.
