Default Episode 18 Vs.

Howdy people! I see no one has posted a thread about tonight’s episode, so I guess I will.

The story has really maintained its momentum, even after last week’s startling revelations. The discovery of their mother’s involvement—and the fact she is still alive—was a major plot twist and turning point in the story. A lot happened in last week’s episode, and it seemed like it would be tough to outdo that one.

I have to say tonight’s episode was pretty darn good. I absolutely love the multiple divides within the family: Michael and Linc are at odds, basically working against each other; Christina has already ordered one of her sons to be killed and contracted someone else to kidnap the other. Now that’s one dysfunctional family. Linc had some good scenes, with emotional substance. The scene where Michael calls him was brilliantly played by Dom. It seems like he just wants the whole thing to be over with, so everyone can be a family again. Michael, on the other hand, seems to be hell bent on getting revenge and at times doesn’t seem to desire a normal life; it’s almost like he doesn’t know how to be normal anymore. However, I think Linc is a bit naive if he thinks he can just walk out of this without having to suffer any consequences. But it is good to see Linc somewhat calling the shots for a change. Before, it was all about following Michael’s plans because he is the brains and Linc is the muscle. And damn did they put him in a nice suit, too! I think he, by far, has the best wardrobe out of all the cast members. Well, Mahone was looking pretty sharp as well.

Mahone, well, how many times do I need to say he is simply awesome. The character is so multifaceted and interesting. He’s certainly the man with expertise, connections, and intellect. Now, also, he’s sort of turned into the mediator of the group, the one trying to hold everyone together and soothe any tensions that may arise. It’s obvious his character has gone through a lot of changes and he’s learned from his mistakes. Letting emotions cloud judgment and dictate action is something his character has moved away from, and he’s trying to instill that wisdom into others.

T-bag, well, I loved him in this episode. The scene at the gate was absolutely hilarious. He’s certainly very gifted at coming up with completely bogus stories off the top of his head. T-bag has essentially turned into the comic relief of the group, seriously. He was a totally badass and nefarious character in season one, then his character slowly started to shift a bit. It’s interesting how such an originally dark character can turn out to provide some of the “lighter” moments on the show. I thought he was kind of sad in this episode too. The way he called the general and gave him the information, only to have him hang up the phone. He may act like a badass sometimes, but he’s really just scared and feels powerless. He isn’t exactly respected in the group; no one really likes him, for good reason. He doesn’t want his mother to be killed, and he really wants to associate himself with something that will gain him respect from others.

Sara...well...I don’t know. I have mixed feelings about her part. When the winter finale aired, I didn’t know what to expect from the remainder of the season. I read many spoilers throughout the hiatus, some of which I found to be rather disappointing. One of those spoilers dealt with Sara discovering she was pregnant. Therefore, I wasn’t entirely surprised to see her with a pregnancy test in hand, with a big blue plus sign on the strip. I was kind of dreading it because it has the potential to change everything and shift the story in a direction that is not only MiSa centric, but also more limiting with regards to how it could end. I don’t want a sugary ending, where everyone lives happily ever after and Michael and Sara and walking through the park, while Sara pushes a baby stroller. This is Prison Break, not a fairytale. I have a hard time believing that with a baby on the way that either Michael, Sara, or both will die in the end. Not to mention, how in the world did Sara get pregnant? They never had sex, unless they kept their clothes on the entire time. I’ve never heard of turbo strength sperm with the power to penetrate denim. If so, then Michael is truly special and I can understand why the company would want to convert him. Just think about how many people he could impregnate! With that being said, despite the fact I don’t like the idea of her being pregnant because it doesn’t make sense on many profound levels, I was very much impressed with SWC’s acting in this episode. She was truly impressive and convincing, by far one of her better performances. It was so refreshing and captivating to see her reactions to the news and how she kept the news from Michael. She must feel conflicted about telling him, whether it is his child or the result of some freak experiment done to her during her captivity. Yea, I know, no one likes that theory. But I still like to think they did some...um...things to her which are of scientific interest. Okay, to all those people who say they did have sex, well, please explain the timing to me. A pregnancy test wouldn’t show results so soon. She hasn’t been back for that long. How long has it been? Does anyone know. I don’t think they have been working on this plan for more than a month. I’d say it’s much less.

They did it right before Sarah showed her back scars to Mike. Ep1 this season I think? When Mike just found out she's alive and they spent time together in a room (with Linc alone outside anyalyzing their dad's writings).

Episode was OK but I think the magic is gone. Sorry to offend anyone

But I gotta say I literally LOL'ed when Bagwell said "What was that, what was that?" after Linc said he's right about something he said. The comic relief was totally uncalled for, kinda reminds me of T-bag's other punchlines earlier in the show at the most inappropriate moments.

Are we like 4-6 eps til the end of the show? If so they're being a bit slow and lackluster with the events by now. I just hope they don't give a rushed cliche ending for a good show like PB.

Yea, I figured people would reference the first episode with regards to Michael and Sara having sex. But, really, they never showed anything. It wasn't even implied. All we say was the two of them, sitting on the bed, and eating Chinese. I think they may have purposefully did it that way because they may have not made up their mind about what to do with the two of them. If they didn't decide to go with the pregnancy storyline, then they could pretend no sex ever happened. But, if they did, which they have, then they could at least try to convince fans something did go on.

Frankly, I think it was totally cheap if they are in fact trying to play it off like something did happen. She had just been through a horrific ordeal and was experiencing post traumatic stress over the abuse she endured. She was twitchy, very jumpy, and scared. I can't see something jumping into bed and having a good ol' time so soon after such an ordeal. Anyway, Michael didn't even know about her scars, which makes it seem even more unrealistic. And, again, the timing is way off. IF she got pregnant that night, there's no way she'd
know she's pregnant now and test positive. It's completely slack and not well constructed. I think it was more of a trial and error thing, where they wanted to please the MiSa fans, but were kind of hesitant to piss off all the others who are not so enthusiatic about the "couple."

I don't think the story is moving slow; A lot has happened. My only concern is that so much is going on, I wonder if they can close all the gaps with so few episodes left. I think there are only 3 episodes left. The last episode airs May 15th, if I am not mistaken. In addition to the aired episodes, there's a 2 hour special which will probably go straight to DVD.

I am thinking there will be a stand-off at the energy conference, which will decide everything. I have a question, what ever happened to the guns they found in the church aka sanctuary?

Like you guys I am enjoying T-Bag as comic relief, his scenes are highly entertaining. Credit to whoever came up with the line "I don't think that's right, sir" for the Indian guard after T-Bag presented his theory that elefants are closest to humans after chimps.
Having said that, the evil overlord that I sort of respected is totally gone, T-Bag is now the laughingstock of the show.

Regarding the MiSa sex: I may be imagining things, but didn't they kind of announce they were going to have sex in the boat in one of the first eps? When the boat was propped up in that hall they were operating out of? I took it that they had sex, back then, and weren't MiSa fans complaining that now they finally had sex we didn't get to see even the smallest love scene? So I think they did have sex, but I agree with candy, it's a long reach claiming that the pregnancy test shows something this soon.

Pitching brothers against each other seems to be very in style in the 08/09 season of TV.... . I wonder what Linc thinks will happen once they handed Scylla to the general. Does he really trust him to keep his word?

I hope they took them with them and stored them somewhere in case they need them!

Yeahh I agree, Sarah's pregnancy was.. unnecessary. I don't like it.
Also, it's unclear why Linc and Michael are fighting. Lincoln wants to give Scylla to the general, but Michael wants to give it to.... the police/government? UGHH they should just talk things out.

Wow, announcing they were going to have sex? Come on now. If that were the case, Sara's character and what she had been through is even more unconvincing and it makes her look a bit slutty, IMO. Who the hell, after being kidnapped and tortured, comes back only a few days later, and says, "Oh, let's go screw like rabbits on the boat."

Okay, honestly, I don't recall the boat scene you are referring to. I remember, vaguely, at one point some of the other guys making a joke about the boat. And, I think I remember something about them saying Micheal or Sara should go to the boat. However, shortly after that when there was a boat scene, there was a lot of awkwardness and tension between them. Michael was in one of those self-loathing and over-contemplative moods, while Sara kept distancing herself from him. I think I even remember her pulling away from him when he reached out to her, and then she just got up and walked away. I don't think they had sex on the boat, at least according to what we've seen on the show. Sara was too distanced and Micheal was too preoccupied during those scenes.

The only scene where it may have alluded to sex is the one where they were on the hotel room. I remember many fans getting really upset over how the scene played out and disappointed by the lack of sex. I think someone may have even asked about it, and the source with the "inside" information said to infer whatever we like, implying it was meant to be ambiguous. Not to mention, how did he not know about the scars on her back? I stand by my opinion it was meant to be this way because they may have not originally intended to have Michael and Sara have sex. I mean, MiSa is by far the most popular couple on Prison Break. There are many fans, very vocal fans, who have been dying to see them together engaging in a little intimacy. When you combine this with the fact many of the other couples on Prison Break have had scenes in a bed, kissing, or having sex, you'd think if the writers wanted to incorporate MiSa sex into the storyline, they would have done so. So far, we have hardly ever seen Micheal and Sara even kiss. It's usually a peck on the cheek, the forehead, or a not-so-thorough kissing scene. I think it was a move to satisfy all the fans and not make any commitments. It was a way to not piss off the anti MiSa fans, but to give the ones who love MiSa a little hope. And by doing the scene the way they did, if they decided not to progress the MiSa story, they could always play it off like no sex ever occurred. If they decided to do something else, like a pregnancy, they could play it off, although not so convincingly, that something did happen.

I really enjoyed the episode - I guess more than 4x17...Linc changed soo much! He totally looked like a Company agent! with all that posture and body movement!! I liked Sara`s scenes and when Michael found out that it really is their mother behind that all...I didn`t find t-bag`s scene funny though...I don`t know why so many people praised that...I guess it`s mostly because of the admiration for the actor
Regarding it all I`d give 5 out of 6
