I don't think that was ever settled, as it could have been Whistler or Bellick as well. I think it's a strong possibility that Whistler killed Tyge and a weak possibility that Bellick did it. I think it's interesting that when Lechero was questioning Whistler in Photo Finish, Whistler's response was to question Lechero's motives to a rush to judgment. This is a typical trick that lawyers use; appeals are typically argued by saying that the police didn't follow proper procedures, even if the evidence is very strong to conclusive.

You know, I think this season was much more of a sociological study than a prison break. I think that's why people didn't take to it well, but I loved it.

It's clear Whistler lied a whole bunch of times smiley....yet you are still faithful that he is an innocent fisherman. Your hope is an extraordinary one.

I would argue the whole series has somewhat been sociological....

Season 3 has more sociology/episode, as measured in the TTA (talking to action) ratio.

Hell... If I was blamed for a murder I didn't do ... just minutes after it was committed... I would be argueing my case too.... wouldn't you? Or would you just sit back and let them blame you anyway? IMO.... I think he did what many people would have done in that situation!!!
From a story point of view... Yes as much as I hate to say it... but yes... there is a strong possibility that Whistler may have done this murder.... but he was ... a very bad man and he deserved to die anyway!!!!! No, seriously... It could also have been Mahone... esp. as you see there is some history between them!

I agree... this season much more then the other two... has really messed with the viewers minds.... It's been the best one for me, so far!!!

So you say..... I say he just stretched the truth a wee bit!!! Held back from releasing more info then needed on a few other occasions!!! Everyone does that!!! I swear I would die laughing.... if in the end he actually turns out to be a fairly decent guy!!!
After all...he had at least two opportunities to kill Mikey and did not do it at either time! We, the viewers have not actually seen him kill a single fly let alone a human since his character was first introduced! We have been told he killed some guy on outside.... but as yet do not know full story there and the only other creature we assume he has killed ... have been the rat he was feeding Bellick near the start of S3!!! We have no proof at all that he killed Tyge!!!

Joeyjoejoe..... Of course my hope is a extraordinary one.... I am a +ive person by nature... I look for the good in someone way before I pick thru the bad bits!!! Oh Lordy.... aren't you lot just so cynical???? He will turn out to be a good one .... eventually!!!

Hrm, I'll address your points one at a time. There is no such thing as stretching the truth....you either tell the truth, lie, or don't say enough to commit to either.

We also have no proof that Mahone or Bellick killed Tyge either. I was more or less commenting that instead of trying to deny that he went down the staircase, Whistler just focused in on Lechero. Nobody had a motive (as far as the story told to us in the show goes) to kill Tyge apart from Bellick, Mahone, or Whistler. That's evidence. McGrady saw him go down the stairs, that is evidence too. Just because we don't know for sure doesn't mean we should discount the evidence. I loved Mahone's line about the Sona crime lab in this one.

I get where you are coming from....but not evil is not the same as good.
