ILWRK, as I said, I haven't understood the second one either, even though I saw the first one. I think the writers wanted to win a prize for the most confusing pointless movie ever made.

Interestingly enough I have never encounterd a person - be it in RL or online - who likes Matrix 2.
Congratulations!

You have just encountered another first in life, like the first time you scraped your knee while riding a bike. It may be painful, but at least it's new.

I like the Matrix 2 but I don't like the Matrix 3. I also like the first one more than either sequel, so we're in agreement there at least. The reason I don't think 2 is as good as 1 is twofold, worse acting and writing. Not until about 1/3 of the way through (when Neo was talking to the Oracle in the courtyard) did it even get good for me.

Man I'm in trouble on this forum I guess.....but I have to say I thought Matrix 2 was actually really good. I was a math/philosophy student in college, and that helped in picking up on a lot of the subtle plot points in the film. I think that a lot of people disliked it because they didn't get the majority of the references in the story, so the dialogue seemed like something you'd find in bad anime.

I have some good reading for you, and this guy is only scratching the surface really. I have picked up references to 3 books this guy doesn't even talk about.

I truly have never encounterd a Matrix 2 fan before, but as I was writing this I was wondering if there would maybe be one here in this board.

You are not in any trouble with me for liking it and what you said about many people not understanding it is totally true. I have the highest respect for people who are mathematically gifted as I don't understand the first thing (well ok, I can add, subtract and so on, of course) about it and I'm intrigued by things I don't understand. That POV ame with growing older, in high school I just hated maths, physics and chemistry. Today I wish I would know those things we were taught back then, but not to the point where I actually do something about it - like taking courses.
That said, when I go to watch a movie, although I like being challenged and getting something to thing about, Matrix 2 was just to far "out there" for me, which made it the ultimate boring and disappointing experience to me. I was nearly jumping up and down in the chair with anticipation while the opening credits with the green numbers were rolling and instead of a good action movie with some philosphical context I got something I didn't understand. Hence my rants against the Matrix sequels.
I will check out the link you provided later, have to walk my dog now!

Listen to me, soulmate, and study this stuff you find totally boring now, because in a few years time it'll at least come in handy in discussions with creationists.
