I know, I need something fresh. I'm just not original enough...

Gary, the more I think about your idea RE: Michael and Lincoln being hired by the gov't the more I like it! Especially the concept of another wrongful imprisonment.

A story could be spun along the lines of Michael and Linc find out about this poor framed guy. While they pretend to strengthen the prison's security, they are in fact making an escape route for the inmate.

Then, LJ is explained how the breakout must happen. He is sent to the same prison, and gets the guy out using the almost finalized escape route. Of course, a series of complications occur, and the plan must be improvised, giving LJ the chance to help devise a plan. By the time LJ breaks out, Micheal and Lincoln will have certainly lost their new jobs, and will be wanted once again.

Meanwhile Sara and a helper (Lisa maybe) will try to uncover the new conspiracy.

All this alone could easily take 1 season.

After watching The Final Break it makes my original idea very easy to execute. We never see Michael's body and there is a good chance he could have survived or could have faked his own death.

Most likely it would end up being just Michael working for the government. And him making "the ultimate sacrifice" was really giving up his family for the government. He still has the tumor and knows he will die soon and made a deal with the government to protect his family in return for working with them.

Now Michael will be helping important diplomatic people escape from foreign prisons and aiding special forces operations overseas.

Now this sounds like a great new show!
