Default Suggestions for New Show to Watch

Hi everyone.

Now that PB is over I am looking for a new show to get hooked on. I have sort of followed Lost, but since the time travel began I haven't been very interested. I'm not very into weird things like in the Lost example. Since everyone on here loves the same show I do I'm hoping I may like some of your other favourites. Any suggestions?

I have been looking for some new shows too! A show I like is Greys Anatomy, but its just not the same cliff- hanging, super addictive, character lovingness, INTENSENESS! So... I would like some suggestions too.. Some good shows though

Hi, What country are you from?
Because that really does change which programmes you can watch

I am Canadian, so most American shows are available.

Supernatural, would be the obvious one I could suggest to you, as it's actually made right there beside you in Canada..... That's a top show...

It's kind of sad about Prison Break though... Here in UK, the boxset of PB4 final season is currently number one in sales in most stores here.... I didn't think it was their best season at all, however, sales are still quite high apparently....

Good luck following your next show....

Other shows like House, and that new one with Tim Roth as lead... 'Lie To Me' also looks good...

Welcome to the threads, btw....

I haven't found another show that does cliffhangers at the end of every single episode.
Supernatural is a great show, but not really the choice that first comes to mind, if you look for a show similar to PB. I watched The Beast a few weeks ago and quite liked it - it's not similar to PB, but at least it has cops and crime.
Right now I am watching Blood Ties (which was already cancelled) and like it very much, despite it is exactly what I was afraid Supernatural would be - a CSI of the supernatural sort.
Hm, other good shows. Battlestar Galactica - but that one's already over, too. Current good shows: True Blood. It got even better in its second season. I love House, too. If you like the analytical you might want to try Dexter - it's not my cup of tea, but everyone else I know that liked PB seems to love Dexter, too.

Blood Ties.... I have that here on DVD Boxset.... I might give that one a go too....
Meant to get True Blood and was having an off day completely and bought the wrong boxset... not really looking at the title....

Mind Grenade... we could watch Blood Ties all together and then have a chat about it after each ep... Cal, you're familiar with that one too...

Dexter is also a good show, I am halfway thru first season of that one.... looks good so far....

I'm right in the middle of watching it. Not to keen on the private detective story, but that vampire is way cool. He is the oldest of any vampire in any TV show ever, and I love my vampire's OLD, because the older the more powerful and experienced. And the actor playing him looking the way he does doesn't hurt at all :

(can you guess why I like him, smiley? )
However so far it's not a show where each single ep warrants in depth discussion and speculation, it's more a stand-alone eps thingie. But so was SPN in the early days.

You really do have a hair fetish, Calena.

Dude, you picked a bad time to be looking for new shows to watch, unless, of course, you want to watch previous seasons and do a little catching up. There really isn't anything on TV now, sadly.

Harper's Island is a good show if you want some mystery and cliffhangers. Sadly, there will be only one season, and the finale airs this upcoming Sat. There are not too many episodes to watch, so it wouldn't take long to get through the season. There's a lot of blood and gore on the show, which is super awesome. You get to see creative killings. It's a gender-neutral show, I think. Both guys and gals can equally enjoy it.

Dexter is awesome, so if you haven't watched it, I'd suggest starting now. It's summer break right now, so, if you have enough time, you might be able to catch up with the storyline before the new season premieres. It's a crime show, but it's most certainly different from all the rest. One really couldn't put Dexter in a box and label it because it's so original.

BSG is an amazing show that really makes you think. It has action, a little romance, suspense, drama, and pretty much everything that one could ever fit into a TV show. It's highly entertaining, but it's also thought-provoking as well. There's also some cliffhangers, and there's a lot of mystery as well. The guys kind of give you little clues here and there, but you spent an x-number of episodes trying to do a lot of guessing. BSG is probably the premium package when it comes to shows. It's also highly addictive and easy to obsess over. It's definitely something the guys can enjoy; it's not some girly show.

Sons of Anarchy is a good show. It's a drama, but it has its fair share of violence. It follows a gang of bikers. It's not overly cliche, and it's not all that soapy, which is a good thing. I wouldn't say it's as suspenseful as PB, though.

24 is a good show for suspense and cliffhangers. If you're looking for something closely matches PB in certain areas, I'd say 24 is your best bet. It's not as character based as PB was, but it's highly captivating as well as entertaining. It also has that continous, movie-like format. Each episode contributes to the building of the overall story arch. You won't really see an episode that strays from the story.

If you're just looking for something to watch, without having to worry about committing to the entire series as a whole, I'd recommend Law and Order. Any of them will do, but I prefer SVU. However, the new season doesn't start until September. You could watch Law and Order: Criminal Intent. This version is currently on the air.

Ah crap, I completely forgot about 24. Of course candy is right, 24 has cliffhangers at the end of every ep.

I can't wait till SoA is finally back!

I wouldn't call it that. I'd say I have an active interest in hair.

I was a bit disappointed to find out Blood Ties was the PI kind of vampire story, but imagine how delightfully surprised I was when that guy appeared on screen as the resident vampire for the first time.
I'm now gonna watch the next ep. You really should try it, too.
