Default Do you feel like the producers mess with you?

I don't know. Season 1 had a pretty decent story with a lot of surprises and unexpected changes but they were plausible and made sense. But after watching season 4 promos and seeing that Sara is not dead I feel like they do not really have a concept which they follow. I rather feel like they are constantly changing or simply inventing the story as the episodes move on. The only thing which seems to matter now is that tons of unexpected things happen but when you feel like the whole show is only about unexpected surprises then it also becomes boring. Who knows, maybe it turns out that Lincoln works for the company and Michael is not really Lincoln's brother and Lincoln's father is alive, too.
I think when too many unexpected things happen then it makes the story rather look weak. Why can the story not simply progress without any unexpected things? To me it really seems as if every episodes needs an unexpected shocking surprise which leaves the audience totally uncertain about how it will move on. This isn't bad when it happens once in a while but when it becomes something you can count on and where you already know that at the end of the episode something bad will happen which leaves you in a state of shock then it becomes annoying.

it's one of the reasons why we love PB - not every TV show can be as good as PB has been with all the twists and turns. and btw I do think they have a pretty good concept of how the things are going to develop in this season. Just feels like it's gonna be a great season...

I hope so.
But one thing which I find a bit unrealistic is that somehow all characters like TBag or Sucre or Bellick always seem to be able stay alive as well. I think this is a bit predictable. I do not expect any of them to die. I bet in the end they will all be one happy family.

I agree with you prisoner 794. But this is how our world is. Nothing is spectecular enough for ppl. Just see how they stop and love to watch in horror when an accident happens. I totally agree with you. I like things to be decent and normal too. Just a bit out of range, out of my own life. But the mass need extrem things to be entertained or otherwise they won't tune in. And that is where the producer dilemma starts: they need to serve the mass, get certain quotes or the show will be canceled! Happens every day! See Moonlight, see Roswell or any other good show that was stopped due to merchandising reasons!
I sometimes feel like we go back to roman times like "bread and games", you know what I mean? ppl need more and more extreme things to feel alive instead of developing. It makes me shudder when I think of all those reality TV-shows that I thought would never stand a chance for long, and here we are , having Big Brother the 9th or 10 th or what? I admit I watched the first but just out of curiosity, but I lost interest very soon.

I totally agree with you here. How anyone can find Big Brother or the various jungle/island shows or even talk shows interesting is beyond me. I remember when talk shows and court shows came up I watched them a bit, often while ironing because you don't really have to look at the TV, but it soon got boring to me. I prefer a well told story over watching someone inprisoned in a house arguing with their fellow inmates anytime.

Guten Morgen Calena!
LOL you are not speaking of those court shows on German TV? Because I was casted for one of those! Some of the shows are produced here. They are fake from beginning to end! I asked them if these are real cases and they said: once they were but now the demand was so huge they have to do the "s*ck out of the finger" thing. And honestly would life be that spectecluar?

Einen wunderschönen guten Morgen auch dir!
Really you were casted for a court show? How much did they pay? Was it fun doing it? What was your case?

Well actually the casting isn't paid. Just if you come from far, they pay your the travel costs, but as I live here and the company doing it is not far from my current work...
Well I was casted for the case where I sue a fitness trainer, who gave me pills to "look like a model" and was promissing me to get me into the model business (yeah right). In fact those pills caused that I fell from the running device once and I now have serious damages on my back and I am a witness at court to scream and shout (like they always do) that he ruined my life and that I cannot work anymore and even my daughter would be in a children's home because I was a psychological wreck! Whooo if that 's not realistic... I don't know what!
In fact, that was the first time I was able to cry in front of camera so I got the job but I didn't go because I couldn`t get off from my job I am doing, and I was afraid to loose that one then, so I am not the risky kind of type like our Wenty is.
You usually get € 60 per day for an extra role. If you speak lines you get more. Isn't too bad is it? But it is nothing to rely on as an every day job.
I did "play" in Stadtklinik, but that s*ck, really.

Certainly sounds like another riveting hour of TV!

I'm impressed. I have never tried acting, but I'm pretty sure I'd majorly suck at it.

I don't blame you, a role in a court show is probably very very rarely the first step to superstardom.

I fact I love acting , but I hate stardom. I have nothing against being rich, don't get me wrong, having enough money can never be too bad. But I would certainly miss walking freely in the streets, stepping out of my house even, ppl / photographer's following you everwhere. The thing is I love being someone else, going into a character completely , but to do that you kinda have to love ppl looking at you, because there are many, many ppl around you in a scene and you have to be able to completely shut that away, which I have trouble with. In that casting, I don`t know, was in cry mood already because I had a bad day..... 4 ppl were doing the casting. 2 camera ppl and 2 directing resp. judging you AND at least 8 others applying for the job. I was kinda disturbed when they applauded me after bursting into tears.
