I had no problem with their interactions, especially in the first season. There seemed to be potential there, in terms of romance. However, I never viewed them as being in love or even being compatible with each other. I've stated this before and given several lengthy responses on the topic, but I honestly feel like it was all more psychological than anything else. I think there may have been some intrigued or attraction, on both parts, but I think it was more or less the circumstances they were in which may have contributed to what seemed to be a sort of magnetism. I think Mikey, for one, got comfort in her presence. He was locked up and facing extraordinary circumstances. He has a major undertaking on his hands, one that could end very badly. I think it took a toll on him emotionally...I think he felt guilty for what he was doing to her....I think he felt the need to save her and thus felt even more guilty when he dragged her into his mess. I think all of this contributes to how he perceives and treats her throughout the series. I don't think he saved her...or tried to...because he was in love. He did it because he felt responsible for her....and because that's his nature--to help people.

AMEN SISTER! I agree with you more. It was all about circumstances and timing. To me, there was no love there at all, at most maybe a natural curiously about each other that might have grown into a infatuation or lust. It's crash and burn baby, from here on out though. Relationships that are born out of extreme circumstance rarely last if ever. So I take comfort in that .

I'm half serious about it. The other day I was watching a House ep where the 5 Stages of grief were mentioned. To some degree they apply to PB and my relationship to it after the announcement of Sara's return.

Quote:
1. Denial:
* Example - "I feel fine."; "This can't be happening."
2. Anger:
* Example - "Why me? It's not fair!" "NO! NO! How can you accept this!"
3. Bargaining:
* Example - "Just let me live to see my children graduate."; "I'll do anything, can't you stretch it out? A few more years."
4. Depression:
* Example - "I'm so sad, why bother with anything?"; "I'm going to die . . . What's the point?"
5. Acceptance:
* Example - "It's going to be OK."; "I can't fight it, I may as well prepare for it."

Kübler-Ross originally applied these stages to any form of catastrophic personal loss (job, income, freedom). This also includes the death of a loved one, divorce, drug addiction, or infertility. Kübler-Ross also claimed these steps do not necessarily come in the order noted above, nor are all steps experienced by all patients, though she stated a person will always experience at least two.

I've certainly gone through denial ("no way!), through anger (" WTH did they murder PB"), through bargaining ("they might find a way to make it awsome") and through depression ("I don't even feel like watching it anymore"). Maybe I'll arrive at acceptance some time soon? Not acceptance of the fact they caved before the MiSa fans and Sara is now back, but acceptance that PB as we knew it is no more, at least I can fondly remember the first 2 seasons and if I ignore Sara's comeback even S3.

And:
Quote:
5-Acceptance-there is a difference between resignation and acceptance. You have to accept the loss, not just try to bear it quietly. Realization that it takes two to make or break a marriage. Realization that the person is gone (in death) that it is not their fault, they didn't leave you on purpose. (even in cases of suicide, often the deceased person, was not in their right frame of mind) Finding the good that can come out of the pain of loss, finding comfort and healing. Our goals turn toward personal growth. Stay with fond memories of person.

I found comfort in SPN! Although I have problems with the realization that they didn't do it on purpose, because they certainly did do it on purpose!

Ahhh It's properly doing my head right in today... it just closes down internet at will and goes straight to my desktop.... It closes down everything... gives me no warning at all.... other then it either stalls/freezes or makes a dull shuddering noise at me seconds before it does this....
I dunno what's wrong with it.... I think I am gonna have to put a ring of salt around it again and utter another exorcism type spell at it... I know, as sexy as I am at the best of times.... my exorcism words of encouragement will be nothing like the lovely Dean or Sam's..... but hey ho.... it worked for a while the last time....

I do have some stuff to do around the house, some budgeting of a/c's and things.... I could, I suppose do without the distraction of having to stay on here and away from my actual work.... but shhhhhhh....... don't be telling my computer that.... she will only stay mad at me then.... she'll offend me worse...
She's a she, btw.... and a right madam she is too, is my computer.... think it might be her time of the month!!!!!
Chat later... Have to go to work at about 2.30pm.... be good!!!

My PC did the same. What browser do you use? I use Firefox and since I start it only in "secured" mode and deactivate all add-ons it is just fine.
I have to take doggie to the vet for vaccination later in the day! Have fun at work!

I had to click on that click to see if those were the actual examples they gave, and it was there.

Anyway, how is everyone? I'm rather pooped and it's going to be miserably hot today...I can tell.

Do you think I pull crap out of thin air and back it up with fake links?

It's cool, yippey. Despite that we just had thunder and lightning and my dog is freaked out which is bad because I want to take him to the vet now.
Miserably hot is a terrible thing. I recommend no movement, cool shower, cool drinks, ice cream.

No, Calena, I don't think that. It was just interesting the examples they used because although the general point made is the same, the way it was put was a bit different. For example, anger would be described as taking it out on loved ones. IN stages of anger and even depression, the person might desire to be alone and thus push everyone away. Bargaining would typically include making promises to become a better person. Sometimes people will becoming born again in this stage and cling more heavily to religion. Acceptance is when they come to terms with what is happening and try to make the best of the time they still have. They may give up using certain life-prolonging medicines and choose to go home to die, where they can be more comfortable and with their family.

I ran into another door knob today, and now my hip hurts again. I can't find my instruction manual, either, so I don't know if I have all the pieces together. It's making me mad.
