it isn't like you walk into the doctor's office at three months and tell him you want a c-section and you want your baby to be born on this date, at this time..
Actually I've read that exactly what you have described is possible and gets done nowadays.

Well, it's uncommon practice in the US....I know a girl who had a phobia and wanted a c-section, which she was denied....

Doctors typically prefer natural childbirth...or at least vaginal birth....over c-sections.....probably because there is an added risk to the mother...infections, surgery complications...and the fact that sometimes the uterine line can thin out do to c-sections....making ruptures a risk with subsequent pregnancies. They do, however, allow induced childbirth...although it isn't widely practiced.

Interesting. It's not that a c-section on a pre-set date the mother to be asks for is very common here, but if you want it you can have it. Although the number of c-sections is rapidly rising her and the argument goes that it is safer for mother and child. The child not being at risk of suffocating etc. Most doctors here are not opposed to c-sections because it is believed that less things can go wrong than with natural child birth, so the danger of being sued is smaller. Quite the opposite of what it seems to be in the US.

I think this is interesting because the reasons you listed are the same ones used by doctors who oppose c-sections. I have seen and known women who have spent hours and hours in labor, in pain, asking for a c-section....while the doctors refused....but then hours later when no progress was being made and their blood pressures were getting too high, then they got their c-sections....I always thought that was rather cruel. Most of the risk with a c-section is for the mother...I think it is safer for the child...IMO

Another example how the same facts can be used for a pro- argument as well as a contra-argument. That's a thing that is endlessly fascinating to me, who you can take a thing and come to completely opposite conclusions on how to procede.

Point here... but is Mr. Nolasco... actually sure about the pregnancy timeline.... or is he taking.... just a wild stab in the dark.... and taking a random guess on how long a woman is along in her pregnancy.... you know... typical man like.... Oh yep... she's three months pregnant now.... only two weeks to go.... ???!!!???

It's like when my now ex husband ... temporarily lost the use of his entire lower extremities due to a few severe involuntary kicks from me..... after telling all our friends and family..... that I took the 'easy way out of doing childbirth.... by having a caesarean instead of a natural birth'!!!!

Yep right.... MEN ... As much as we love you all..... and believe me we do.... Listen Up Please..... Unless you have a Uterus.... You have no opinion at all on this subject!!!! OK!!!!

OK then..... Mr. N ..... All this chat about your little elephant baby.....So was it straight from the lovely Maricruz you got this pregnancy info..... or was it just a little guess on your behalf??? Huh???
LMAO!!! are men really that clueless about this?!?!?! man i just cant wait to have kids now....lol
yes maricruz's crazt pregnancy..2 years??! lol!!!!

What makes me laugh most..... and I see it quite often, in my line of work.... I come across the dads.... the well meaning ones....who seem to have got it stuck firmly in thier heads that..... those little pre birth pains we get [Braxton Hicks] are in fact quite painless.... and that all us girlies should be still fit to run a marathon straight after getting a pile of them!!!!
As I said before on here......

MEN....BLESS YOU ALL TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH....BUT UNLESS YOU HAVE A WOMB.... DON'T BLESS US ALL WITH AN OPINION!!!!
