| The ten things I've learned from Prison Break: 1. Game of poker $50...a car and an illegal alien wife $13,000...a silo in Utah...$5,000,000....a key card disguised as a credit card...PRICELESS. 2. Hydrogen peroxide bleaches more than just hair. 3. Fat men should always be last when shimmying from a wire. 4. Dogs have more senses than just smell. 5. Never swallow anything you're not willing to give up an arm for. 6. Your knight in shining armor does not come riding up on a white stallion....or an oragami crane. 7. When your mother said "shop around" she didn't mean in the prison commissary. 8. If the air conditioning is broken, a glass of water in your face will not cool you down! 9. As for government conspiracies, there IS life after the X-Files!! 10. When all else fails get lost in Wents eyes! Quote:

| The whole 'The Government Is Corrupt' is a theme that has been running through American drama's and film for so long now. I think Prison Break is another show that throws this ideology into the mix. It does make you wonder though, weather these filmakers/producers are trying to portray a deeper message through these forms of entertainment. Would be an interesting debate. I think in the first series, one of the main themes the producers tried to get across, was the flaws in the prison system. I'm not talking merely about the escape, but moreso the characters who we see. They played on many steretypes, such as homosexuality (not in an exclusive sense), the high population of ethnic minorities in these prisons, the corruptness of prison officials, and I'd even say its a social commentary on corporal punishment too. I personally havent 'learnt' a lot from Prison Break, its rather just enforced ideas that have been present in drama's and films like this for a long time. |
