| Related to this discussion, I'm really curious to know what part of season 4 would have been season 3 (after episode 13) and what are really new ideas? Guess we'll never know. |

| I heard that when they came back from the writers strike that there really wasn't much that they had planned for the last half of season 3 yet so they took just the important parts (like T-Bag escaping Sona and Sara coming back) and put them in the first couple of episodes. I don't think we missed much. I think the main problem was them squeezing it all into 2 episodes. Maybe we would have seen more of Lincoln and Sophia together and Michael hunting down Whistler and Gretchen. |

| Wow, that was a lengthy post. I don't think the series was preplanned from the very beginning. There may have been some ideas circulating, but I don't believe there was necessarily any commitment to them. For one, no one really knew how long the series was going to last. From what I have read, it was never intended to go as long as it has.

| Hrm. Originally we were led to believe that a close group surrounding the Vice President staged Steadman's death and framed Linc for this "death." We only learned later on in the first season that there even was a Company, when Aldo Burrows mentioned it to Linc in the junkyard. Not soon after that did we learn that Kellerman was actually working for the Company as well as the vice president at the time. They also didn't shed a lot of light on the infrastructure of the Company at that time. I think that Season 3 wasn't just something on the side. Clearly it was important for a few reasons: *Mahone's transformation from bad to good *Michael learning to confront more problems directly *The perception of guilt in others, personally I thought everything they did with Whistler was wonderful (the back and forth with his character) *The exploration of two main themes which I always like to see dramatized: redemption and futility I do also like the ties they make between S1 and S4, but to be honest these last few weeks are going to make me go back and rewatch everything. There may be some minor plot holes, but I am still really curious about where the next few episodes are headed. Good post.
