I'm not opposed to the idea of romance either. I agree with you that the relationship isn't exactly an ideal one. Someone else pointed this out to me and it makes complete sense. Michael was indirectly responsible for Sara's father dying, her losing her job and being framed for various crimes. Honestly, I would hope most women would kick a guy like that who were bringing them down to the curb, but this is TV land so everything is different. It's just not the strong type of character I'd like to see.
We regulars are problem some of the ones who said that, I know I have. There are so many reasons why their relationship doesn't make sense. First, I don't think they were ever intended to be a couple. If my memory serves me correct, Sara was supposed to die at the end of Season 1. After that, they made her useful to the story by having her with the key. There still was not a relationship there, and it didn't seem like anyone was trying to convince us they were a couple.
One thing I noticed is the different reactions from Michael concerning Sara. The first time he thought she was dead, he didn't seem too torn up about it. He wasn't having an emotional breakdown, in a fit of tears, and vowing to seek vengeance, or even to find her. When she did show up and was in fact alive, he hugged her in a very platonic way and then went on with business. It wasn't two people in love reunited, not at all. The really interesting thing about this deals especially with the timeline. The guys weren't in Sona for very long. Michael probably found out about Sara's death in maybe a week. But this time his reaction was a little different. I can't imagine that in roughly a week, maybe less, that he suddenly experiences such a change that he is not only suddenly in love with her, but also willing to kill for her. And if you add this to the fact they literally never spent any real time together, these are two people who do not know each other. I made a comparision not too long ago, although not the best one: The guy who works at the service station I go to probably knows me more than Michael and Sara know each other. Not only this, but I have probably had more verbal exchanges with him than Michael and Sara have had the entire season.

I think the timeline does show that they really haven't known each other that long and they just can't possibly be at this point in their relationship.

Just recently I heard that they were originally going to kill off Sara and then the actress that played Veronica wanted out so they killed her off instead. I think it would have been interesting to see Veronica and Lincoln get together, outside of the prison.

I really adore the actress. I don`t quite know how to explain it but she has that something in her which makes her unique. I`ve never felt anything like that towards any actress or actor. She seems to be down to earth, doesn`t expose herself in overflow of magazines or tabloids - keeps her private life private. And I think she potrays Sara Tancredi really really well and I guess was the perfact face and personality for that role Chemistry between her and Michael was fantastic through season 1 and 2. This season though was a bit of a disappointment but still the last episode clearly stated what they mean for each other

I do think she is certainly a rarity in Hollywood. She doesn't come across as an attention whore. She seems to be an intelligent woman and has managed to keep her professional and personal lives separate. She doesn't prance around wearing the most revealing outfits, and we don't see her stamped on the cover of magazines, wearing nothing but a bra and panties. She doesn't look fake, full of artifice. There's no fake tan, fake hair, and fake tits--all of which is a tremendous relief to me because it seems artifice and way too much makeup plague the media nowadays. She's an extremely attractive woman, naturally. She has a beautiful and unique-looking face and an incredibly sexy body.

I liked her character the most in the first two seasons. I wasn't convinced they (she and Michael) were this perfect couple, destined to be together. However, i think the tension between them was wonderfully portrayed. I would have liked for her character to have more of her own, separate storyline, especially in the last season.
