| Oh yes.... that boy is a mini-me in every single way possible!!! lol!!! You think I am a nerd for facts.... MiniMe just keeps storing them up!!! Seriously, the stuff he comes out with... defies logic!!! He does nothing but store history docs on the sky+ box... then after he watches them... he then researches them either in local library, from school or on the net.... he then scribbles any discrepencies down in a little notepad... for future useand ticks them each off as he discovers .... as he says...... the 'real truth'!!! He watches every quiz going on TV.... and beats me regularly at scrabble!!! he's a whizz at words!!! LOL!!! It's not surprising we gel so well together really.... him and me.... we can talk for ages about topics and debate them with earnest!!! Sod him.... he's great at debating too.... that's his forte!!! LOL!!! Quote:

I grabbed a hand towel from the adjoining bathroom and a pen and scribbled down chords, notes and lyrics all in the space of ten minutes.... I sing it to him often when he's feeling low!!! We kind of do harmonies now too!! LOL!! But to me, this stuff is personal.... I don't really want to share it with anyone else!! Anyway.... the good songs aren't strictly speaking mine.... I dedicated them to others.... they belong to them! I don't sing them anywhere unless with their permission!!! Even AJ's two songs....... He's fierce protective of them!!! I even wrote one for my own wedding in 1996.... decided I would just get up and grab a guitar and sing it right there in the middle of the service..... Seriously.... you could have heard a pin drop! My mother nearly had to be resussitated!!! My father was the only one who knew about it.... well him and the priest who married us.... not even my now ex husband knew!!! The look on his face was just priceless!!!! Looking back.... I really can't tell you why more people didn't have some idea about it..... as I am one who likes spontinanity and besides the bloody words were on the back cover of the sodden Wedding Booklet...for all to see with my name printed underneath them!!!! LOL!!! Candy I am going to get it put together into a book for him when he comes of age old enough to thoroughly treasure it.... It's for him.... not for anyone else!!! I kind of want to give it to him on his wedding day.... soppy I know.... but that's me!!! I know my MiniMe... better then anyone.... he'd love nothing more!!!! Ok then,.... back to thread..... Mr. M And as I say goodnight... A little poem ... just for you!!! LOL!!! Went oh Went.... We're all in a mess.... We're giving up talking about how you dress... See we're now onto thinking about you and books.... Maybe next week, we'll discuss if you cook!!! Ps:..Candy and Cal

I'm the opposite; I write solely for myself. It's a form of therapy for me, a way for me to make sense out of all my internal messes. I'm very particular about who I let read my stuff because it is very personal in nature, and people tend to view it as depressing. This tends to lead to a gazillion questions after they have read it, usually because they have little understanding of who I am. This is why this is reserved for people whom I feel at least have a decent understanding of the person I am and how I work. I used to have this buddy who took drama with me. The instructor was a complete ass, so we often got together outside of class and worked on our own stuff together. At first we would just share tid bits of what we had written. Then this lead to us doing some collaborating. We used to play this game where we would each write a line, and then the other person would come up with a line to follow the previous. I really miss that dude; I haven't seen or spoken with him in I don't know how many years. I have such fond memories of him. We both loved the same music and could talk about music for hours on end. And I absoulutely loved how we would both write together. It was interesting some if the stuff we came up with because we had completely different styles of writing. I just loved how we fed off of each other....it was truly a beautiful experience. I wish I could find someone I could do that with....just sit around and read, share thoughts, and write anything that comes to our minds. It sounds like you have a wonderful and open relationship with your son. It''s obvious you love him very much and are a fanstastic mother. He is really lucky to have you in his life. He sounds like a smart one too...kids in the US have become so apathetic. They don't care about reading and writing...all they want to do is park their butts in front of the TV or play video games until their thumbs fall off. It's really disappointing to see....Ok then,.... back to thread..... Quote:

Seriously.... sometimes as good as that boy is he would drive me to drink!!! We're a good pairing... honestly... we've had to be! It's been just him and me for a few years now!!!.... God... that sounds awful doesn't it..... I promise you I am kicking him out in a few years.... we won't be growing old together!!! LOL!!! For me, honestly... I know I have to put the work in now.... I want him to be a good enough lad for a girl later on in his life. I want him to have all the things and chances I never had... I'm so hard on him sometimes... I have had to realise lately that when he argues with me, he is old enough now to make a valid point... most of the time!!! He's an angry boy about how his father has treated me over the years. His relationship with his dad is not great, he hates that and tends to take it out on me.... cause in contrast, I don't ever turn around and tell him he's s***!!! I'll always be there for him!!! Soppy yeah.... but that's my job!!! LOL!!! Thank you Candy He's a kid that in a room of thousands... he'll be the one who will stand out!!! He has not yet sat down to watch Prison Break.... It's a bit too old for him.... actually, I think he would understand most of it... he watches worse! He would really love the whole Mikey breaking Linc out storyline... He would get that in a jot... I'm not so sure he needs to be learning anything about T-Bag and his pockets though!!!! LOL!! I have explained general story to him.... He's engrossed with the whole way it could and does go!!! Tuesday mornings on way to school, we discuss the last nights episode... main points.... but I haven't let him watch it yet!!! It is isn't it!!! Pure class!!!!

| That's single motherhood for you.....It seems these situations are far too prevalent in society, but sometimes it's for the best, especially when the father becomes a great source of negativity. It reminds me of a comment someone made some months ago about people who don't have parents. They said sometimes it's better to have no parents than the ones that some kids get stuck with. Sadly, this is true. I've seen kids who come from the worst households imaginable, and I think their lives would be so much better if CPS would just take their asses outta there. But, there aren't enough resources and workers to save ever child in need of being saved, unforuntately. The burn out rate in CPS is almost astonishing, but nonetheless understandable when you think about the situations of abuse and neglect that are encountered. |

| BTW.....yes, prize winning...I tell ya.....lol Of course there are going to be some difficulties....times where your patience is tested....it's that way with pretty much every child. At least you can say that he will become a decent man oneday...full of opportunities and the interests to be goal oriented, which is lacking in modern society. |

| I can't remember, is this the thread we talked about Jane Austen? Anyway I started reading Persuasion and I can understand why one would name one's son after Cpt. Frederick Wentworth: Quote:
Considering Cpt. Wentworth's first name is Frederick I think Wentworth Miller is better off with Wentworth as first name than with Frederick I can imagine the scene: Little Went coming home from primary school crying "Mummy the kids are making fun of me because of my strange name" and Mama Miller anwering "shhh - little Went, would you rather your name was Frederick Miller" Everytime I read "Wentworth" though, I have WM before my eyes. Kind of annoying because I don't think Went looks in any way like an 19th century British Navy Officer.

LMAO!!! Honestly.... When naming my child..... I went one even better..... LMAO!!! I actually ...in a round about way... named my son after.... wait for it..... A SEWAGE COMPANY IN IRELAND!!!!! LOL!!! Let me explain........... Picture the scene if you can.... 1999.... Long roasting hot summer, my belly is stretched out for miles.... I'm absolutely knackered carrying a big heavy lump around everywhere.... I am permanantly connected to a basin.... cause the little git decides to rage so many hormones thru me.... I spent the entire time puking up and I lose more weight then I put on.... and on top of all that..... as well as having a pretty much umsympathic husband.... ( Now exhusband) ... I have the pleasure of his parents....AKA... the 'Outlaws' and their entourage who were all well under my feet and doing my head in for most of it!!! Anyway.... for reasons, I won't go into here.... I had a very difficult pregnancy... each day I woke up, still sick... was a day I still had him breathing inside me.... so I pottered on.... unwavering in my belief that I would have a baby at the end of it all.... Seven months into pregnancy.... I suffered a setback, nearly lost him.... we went to hospital for a scan to decide what to do next.... again for reasons, I will never know... he was still there.... actually making a hand gestured that was remarked that looked very much like a hand wave... I was happy... he would make it til the end..... I then started planning my payback!!!! At the scan, we found out for the first time officially we were having a boy!!! So we decided there and then to name him Alexander Joseph after his two grandads! Surprising enough.... the actual first person I rang to tell of this fact was my brother in Ireland... he's a treasure... love him to bits!!! Anyway, he works as a Senior Quantity Surveyer in Ireland... for a big company... He was in the middle of a meeting with a sewage company called AJ Constructions.... ( Although, I think it was an Anthony & a Joe he was speaking too).... I know.... how conincidental was that??? Initially, I have to admit, we ( my ex & I) only began calling him it.... to piss his parents off.... they were absolutely destroyed that they had to tell everyone about the sewage company connection.... It gave us endless hours of pleasure... just watching them squirm!!! We had every intention of calling him Alex after we thought they had had enough torture..... however, 8 years later he is still AJ.... we never got round to changing it... and besides it kind of suits him now!!! He's not an Alexander... So then...... I guess Mr. M. .... can rest assured he isn't the only one with the weird 'how did I get my name' story!!! LOL!!! And... oh yeah.... Although, my AJ has been told this story many times and finds it so amusing... he hasn't yet bothered to spread it round the playground!!! .... I wonder why??????????? LMAO!!!

| And what is AJ's take on being named after a sewage company? If he is called to the principal again he could say: "Sir, it is really not my fault, I'm just a troubled kid, you see, my parents named me after a sewage company".
