I don't think that dude, Jensen, is very good-looking. I guess I am a bit picky...I prefer dark hair.
candy!!!!! Well, at first you didn't fancy Went neither, I recall some statements along the lines "I don't get why everyone is so into Went" from you.
I'm into dark hair, too, BUT (a big one) Have you really looked at Jensen's jawline? Have you? And his eyes? Not Went-worthy, I admit, but still I could gaze dreamily into those a few hours.

I don't really get poetry, I'm afraid.

Now then.... on the other hand ... this boy just grows on me ... kind of like a big wart!!!! LOL!!! I don't know if you have ever seen the british ... well strictly not british.. but actually Irish... but chat show in England.... guy called Graham Norton.... Theis guy is sooooo funny!!! DB was on his show a few weeks ago with Sharon Osbourne.... and boy did he squirm!!! Sharon O was all over him like a rash... and so was Mr. Norton!!! LMAO!!! The audience were all screaming for him to strip down to his Undies there and then.... which he very nearly did!!! In fact, I think he did eventually throw both his shows or something else into the audience... ( I can't remember what it was...)...LOL!!! I swear I haven't laughed so much in a while!!! I'm sure Graham N. did America for a bit!!!
Where was I when this happend?? Why do I always miss all the good stuff. It sure is hard being a single woman sometimes, so I need a little visual stimulation. He is a good-looking man. He has a great build. So, Smiley, being that you were privledged enough to get a little show, please provide us with details.

Personally, I prefer the writings of the Bronte sisters or George Eliot... she wrote great stories.... however, there is indeed a character called Cpt. Wentworth in Persausion!! Wheither or not, Mr. M was named after him is debatable.... I was to be named after the english football team CHELSEA first until.... my parents changed their minds three weeks after I was born!!! Who knows???
On subject of.... Ctp. Wentworth.... he had a really long love affair with Anne Elliot in the book..... If I remember.... I last did that book in school in about.... 1986/87...... It's a classic!!! Enjoy it too Calena!! What good choices!!!
PS... If you like a good classic book.... Try 'Silas Mariner' by George Eliot!!! That was a great story!!! That is probably my favourite of all of them!!! ... Well all except Great Expectations.... By Dickens!! That's just superb from start to finish!!!
The Bronte sisters were also really great. I remember reading an article in which one of the sisters..can't remember which one...openly criticized Elizabeth Barrett Browning....not that it's relevant, but it;s just something that sticks out in my mind--all the quarreling amongst women writers during that time. If I remember correctly, and correct me if I'm wrong, didn't George Eliot dress like a man?? I remember reading articles and memoirs which detailed her propensity for wearing men's clothing. It was rather interesting. I actually have a fascination with women who did this.

You are correct: I wasn't into Weeniworth for the longest time. I guess you ladies have been a bad influence on the Candy....gives girlies a little smacking...lol. Seriously, it is quite strange because I'm not the type of woman who pays much mind to celebrities--it's just not my thing. And then there is the fact that I don't look at men the way most other women do. In order for me to be attracted to a man, I have to get a feel of the interior first. It's hard to acknowledge physical attraction before doing this. It's kind of difficult to do that with a celebrity because I will never get to know them. For the longest time, I felt like something wasn't quite right with me because of it. I even questioned my own sexuality....I guess the Weenieworth settled that internal debate for me because I can now say I am heterosexual...Thanks Weenieworth....you made me realize I'm not gay....

Poetry can be difficult to tackle. I'm not going to sit here and pretend I get everything I read, because I don't. I think anyone who reads it enconters work from time to time that they just can't wrap their minds around. The only thing I can say is to not look at it soo critically....not not over analyze every aspect of it and tear it down...unless, of course, you are an English major. Just read the poems, enjoy the words, the imagery, the poetic devices put to use. I am a lover of words, so it appeals to me. I love the way they manipulate words to create their own unique piece....I guess this means you don't write poetry??

I don't write anything. (Except posts on this board, obviously ) I consider myself a user, not a creator.

I am too, but I haven't been very exposed to poetry. I like The Raven and the Roland-poem that inspired S.K to his Dark Tower books (which I love, I think we have already discussed this). I liked some of the poems of German writers we had to read in school, but it never occured to me to read poems for recreational uses.

How do you stand on comics? Again, I will get into more details on the BtVS thread when I get around to it. I have now read volume 1 of the Buffy season 8 comic. Aside from that i'm not especially keen on the military style settings I just don't seem to be the type for comics. I can't lose myself in them like I can in a good book. In addition to that it seems to me that I'm getting less story for more money than I would if I bought a novel.

Wow, that's quite an accomplishment, especially for some guy who is rumored to be gay.

I guess my constantly brainwashing you about how he is so smart and thoughtful worked, then.

I guess I could get you hooked on Jensen: Take a look at that jawline again. Doesn't it just scream testosterone? I bet despite Jensen describing himself as shy, once you made him lose his inhibitions he would put that gym equipment of yours to use for hours on end.

Who's thread are we on again? Went's? That's good, I already mentioned him in this post.

You should take a stab at it sometime....you may find it to be therapeutic. Don't worry about rhyme and meter.....try doing some subconsious writing...you might be surpirsed what comes out of that mind of yours. Just let your subconscious flow out on to the paper--or on to your word document. Maybe you could even share some of it. I think you have it in you; I see a good writer in you.

Obviously, I prefer novels. I need something with some length and depth to it. I love the detail put into the word usage, sentence formation, and character/plot development. I just love a good book. I haven't read the BTVS comics, but I'm sure they might be entertaining. When I was younger I used to go to a local comic book shop to hang out with friends--this was on rare occasion. I found myself thumbing through the comics almost everytime I went there. I even picked up a few of the classics.
This discussion reminds me of a man I met once. He was a schizophrenic homeless man who used to hang around the downtown area and occasionally frequent the local mall parking lot. Most people were afriad to go near him for some reason, and I don't understand it because he seemed so harmless. He was a tiny black man, who always carried this little backpack around with him. I remember seeing him at the mall one day, sitting all by himself. I felt really bad for him....he seemed so lonely. I decided I wanted to go and have a small chat with him--to at least give him a warm hello, something I am sure he wasn't used to. I ended up sitting and chatting with him for several hours, and he proved to be an interesting human being. It turned out he had a talent for drawing, and he like to make up his on comics. He had at least half a dozen notebooks in his backpack, filled with drawings and comics he had created. They were really impressive, and I could tell he really had a passion for it. I also got the feeling he clung to them like they were all he had. It was almost like the characters he created were his only friends.....everyone he loved was in his little notebooks. I remember wondering why he had not done something with them, and I really wished there was something I could have done to help him. if I had had the connections at that time, I would have seen that someone looked at his work, but I didn't. All I could do is give him my ears and a little money before I had to leave. I still think about him sometimes; I hope he is doing a little better.

I guess that is an accomplishment, but I don't think his sexuality factors into it. It doesn't affect anything. I can now honestly say that I am physically attracted to a man. He is trully beautiful.....I've been reading a lot of comments about him, especially recently, and everyone seems to want to point out that he is old, has bald spots and gray hairs, and all that other stuff. God, these people are obviously stupid. Do they don't realize that photos are touched up? I like the fact that he is a real person, that he doesn't try to hide these "imperfections." I think it is this that makes him so appealing to me. I don't give a rat's ass if he is going bald. I think it's sexy; it shows that he is maturing into a fine older man. I would love for someone to tell him that it doesn't matter, not because I think he needs to hear it or is insecure, but because I think it would be nice.

I don't know if it was all the talk about being smart and thoughtful. I am not guilible enough to make such assumptions based on interviews. Like I've said before, there is a barrier that must be present between the actor and the interviewer. There is an image to maintain. If he were indeed a not-so-pleasant person, it would not be in his best interest to reveal that. I cannot make any character judgements on what I have seen. I can speculate, but that's as far as it goes. I will say that he does seem like an interesting person. I get the feeling that he may be a bit strange and eccentric....that appeals to me because I am the same way.....but mostly because it appears that he doesn't try too hard to be popular. We don't see him trying to dress in clothes that are trendy; we don't see him running to his plastic surgeon for botox or hair implants; ans we don't see him showing his ass off on bars every other night.
I don't think you could get me hooked on Jensen...he just doesn't appeal to me. And, like I said before, it takes a lot for a man to really get me going....to really impress me and spark me interest. I've never been the type of woman who walks around and goes, "ooh look at him, and him, and that guy in the corner, and that guy at the bus stop." When I am into someone in real-life, I am into that person alone. I am sure of myself, and I am not fickle. I know what I want and what I like when I see it. So, if I am really into someone, they have my undivided attention....I don't know if that sounds creepy, but it's the way I am. I take pride in the fact that I value the people who come into my life. I take pride in the fact that I invest myself in them...
And I think that gym session is still reserved for the Weenieworth....if I could somehow get him interested. It sure would be nice...I'd like to find someone I can experiment with and explore my fanstasies....I don't know if he's the type of guy or if anything I have posted would appeal to him...I'm sure the slender part is the turn off as well as the stuffing the hair accidently down my pants, but hell, I have some good qualities dammit...

When you get done with those books, let us now. I'd really like your take on them...I might post some links to poetry...I mgiht even talk about some of the books I mentioned a few weeks ago.
Hope you're having a good one, btw...I know you said you dreaded getting up this morning.

Thx, that's very sweet of you. Actually it's evening now and I can indulge in reading and watching TV as long as I manage to keep my eyes open. I didn't dread getting up because it was an awful day, I just don't want to get up in the morning, period. I'm not morning person. Not at all. I once had a colleague who I loved, she was so sweet and funny but she was a morning person. When I come in in the morning all I can manage is a rather disgruntled "morning" - without the good, that's too much effort. She on the other hand was like "hello, dear Calena, what a wonderful morning this is, let's get going". Aaaahhhrrgh!!!!

I sure will, I'm looking forward to our deep conversations. We can be our own "Austen Book Club"

I can relate, I too had the experience of meeting people briefly who I wished I could have helped and who I wish have a good life now.

I still haven't managed to notice any bald spots. I guess I'm blinded by his eyes . Old? He's about 2 years older than me, so no I don't think he's old. I'm not overly into the grey haired Clooney or - what's the name of the Pretty Woman guy? - look, but with hair as short as Went's the colour really doesn't matter. In fact I fancy long dark hair in men and Went having me drool over him despite not meeting these criteria just goes to show how great he is.

Come on, I'm sure he likes slender women and he surely does have a good sense of humor!

Thx very much, I have my doubts about that. Problem is, if I ever could persuade myself to give it a try it probably would be in German. And not poetry, a short story maybe? Like "The Day I Met Wentworth" - sounds more like fanfic than serious literal work.

See now... it is that easy to just loop back to the main topic after you ramble on and on about every other thing first..... LOL!!! ... still following Smileys lead!!!

Candy... I don't remember much more of the G Norton show.... He's really funny... takes the P out of everything!!! He had Glenn Close ring the Samaritans or someone like that another night.... DB had to ring someone up on the show and plug as many of something in as he could!! He also did quite a nifty impression of Simon Cowell.... They pulled a member of the audience up ... a male and put him in a wig and he pretended to be Danni Minogue.... And as Sharon Osbourne unmercifully pulled the piss out of Louiss Walsh (All UK X Factor judges)..... She really laid into him... big style!!! for the whole interview... Graham Norton, then got the real Louis to come on and sit beside her for the last bit of the interview!!! Priceless!!! You couldn't make it up!!! I swear the look on her face was better then anything else I have seen for a long while!!! LMAO!!!

I love poetry!!!... I studied English Lit.... I have written poetry, maybe 20 different poems over the years, as well as to date.... 13 songs... but they will stay with me... won't ever post them on here!!! LOL!!! It's a good way to vent out creativity in me!!! I love my words too!!! LOL!!!
Poetry was one of my favourite areas of English! I love Shakespears sonnets, Keats, Byron... Shelley.... as well as a host of Irish poets particularly a guy called Patrick Kavanagh and WB Yeats! My favourite Poem of all is 'Aodh/He Wishes For The Cloths Of Heaven'... By WB Yeats.... Beautiful!!!

Sorry.... Jenson guy.... still don't see it!!!!

George Eliot, from what I remember was a lady trapped in a 'man's world'... her books were never going to be fist published if she said she was a woman... so she chose the name George ( after her husband/friend or something)... and stuck Eliot onto the end cause it rolled nice off the tongue... and seemes to go with George!!!! Her actual name was Mary or Ann or something like that.... I am too lazy now to google her in!!! LOL!!!
Her books got published with everyone assuming they were from a male author, although... I believe she wrote more books once her secret was out!!! She wrote a few books before Silas Mariner.... Adam Bede, being one of them.... I'm not as fond of that one!!! I love Silas though!!! I could nearly quote it word for word.... I've read it so often!!!

Mr. M.... You should read Silas Mariner..... It's a good book!!! .... oh yes.... and some Yeats poetry.... Quoting a few lines of that stuff will woo any woman!!! It's great!!!

See how I did that Calena???........
You picking up everything!!! LOL!!!

LOL smiley, I wonder who your boy got his independent mind from.

If I'm not mistaken Went graduated in English lit from Princeton. Another thing you have in common with him, how did you rate on intellectual compability again?

See, an entire post almost solely about Went.

Yes, I recall that she used the male psuedonym in order to get her works published......spent a good deal of time studying her in school along with other female writers. Much emphasis was placed on women writers and feminism, and as much as it was rammed into my head, I never got tired of it. That's where my main interest lies--all things gender-related. I believe I can recall reading things about her sexual exploits....I think she was rumored to have flings with several other prominent females of her time. I wish I could find the bit about the crossdressing so I could go into more detail. I'm sure it's in one of the books I have scattered around here.
You should post some of your stuff....it sounds like you must be rather picky with your writing, because surely you have written more than that. I have books and books of crap I have written--emphasis on crap--but I keep writing nonetheless. Maybe one day I can make some sense out of some of it. There was a period where I stopped writing for awhile....I guess somewhat influenced by something someone asked me. They were reading it, and they looked up at me with the most sincere look of concern on theri face and asked if I was suicidal. I was taken back by this comment because I thought the stuff they had read were exhibits of strength and strong will. Some of them I thought of as actually uplifting and even happy...but...no....apparently it was some of the most depressing **** they had read and they wanted to admit me to the nearest mental hospital...lol.
keats is good; shelley is good. Byron, imo, had a much more interesting life. I think his image and the enigma that surrounded him overshadowed his actual work. I have to admit, I am particulary fond of the Romantics.....one of my favorite periods.
I wonder if the Weenieworth writes poetry. I bet he is really stuff on himself if he does....
