Hahahahaha... that's not funny!!! Candy.... only last week he wanted to take this girl from his class out on a date to the cinema.... he told me he was so nervous about how to ask her out!!! They are 8 years old!!! It reminded me of that bit in that Love Actually movie where the young kid went thru the airport security to run after his current love of his life.... and then just stood there nearly passed out as she gave him back a peck on his cheek.... I swear I don't want to see it yet.... I don't!!! LOL!!! BTW.... I told him to try and ask her if she wanted to borrow one of his books or DVD's first.... before they went out to cinema etc..... It's bloody because of that young girl..... I have been asked to ''make his room more grown up''...... he told me he ... and I quote ... '' doesn't want her coming around to our house and seeing a baby young boy's room!!!! '' .... He does have a jar of vaseline in there BTW.... although he uses it for his lips and eczema!!! He has more beauty products in there then I have in total!!!! LOL!!! He spends ten minutes solid every morning.... spiking his hair alone!!! And I dread it when he does eventually get his hands on one of those mags!!! Oh God..... I'm positively shaking about how that conversation will go!!!!!

It is a bit disturbing thinking about it, but they are starting much earlier nowadays....and believe me...I witnessed kids just as young sit down in front of a TV or thumb through a magazine, making the same comments you'd expect from a 21 year-old guy. But, hey, at least you plan on having the talk....I've seen parents think that giving their young son a porno video was a substitute of "the talk." This way, in their minds, they don't have to answer any of these questions...now that's stellar parenting.....are people that uncomfortable with talking about it...

It reminds me ... kinda... of a date I once had with this really really lovely guy.... we had met a few times previously to that... all seemed to be going really well and then he suggested that he meet AJ [for the first time]... and that we do a little Sunday afternoon dinner out in a pub/restaurant...AJ was about 6 at the time..... well anyway.... .. both of them seemed to be gelling well with each other.... he was smiling at me in an unforced way.... so all was good....UNTIL..... AJ decided to launch into one of his many... Why does this do that? rants.....

Seriously...he started off the conversation by saying... and I quote.... '' When I rub my weeweeman it stands up straight..... [with that he threw his hands up in the air to show this guy that he was not helping it to stand up in anyway].... and then.... when I leave my hands away from it for a bit [still keeping them up in the air] .... it goes back down!!!'' Why is that??? He asked over and over again!!!.... To which he then added.... ''You're a man... I think.... does yours do that as well when you rub it?????''

I swear..... If the ground could have just opened up there and then I would have gladly jumped into any hole there was!!! He just didn't let up for the next half hour..... And he said it so loud that everyone else around us were also aware of his little query!!!!! Eventually.... this guy did pacify him with a resolution to his query.... but not before I exploded with both shame and embarrassment!!! Not surprisingly... we never did do the trip out to the restaurant or indeed out in public again!!!

Actually... truthfully.... I think he did and said it all quite innocently.... he is always messing with his lot down there .... every single night!!! LOL!!... I swear it's like an inbuilt thing in every man.... that they have to keep checking their bits regularly just to ensure they have not somehow disappeared or got eaten by their trouser zip or something.... well anyway.... I think he did do it quite innocently... but the way it came across was just cringing for me.... cause he just wouldn't stop!!! You'd want to see and hear him when we come out of church.... on the rare occasion we go.....

Ok picture the scene.....
We are on bus.... [I choose to bus it into local mall... cause car parking is an absolute nightmare and it actually takes a shorter time to travel].... ok... we are on bus .. sitting down near back... we've just come out of church.... he's humming KumbahYah or something.... and I am just staring out of window miles away....
Ok so far.... yes of course it is..... But I haven't yet told you who we are sitting next to....
Again picture the scene.... A middle aged/older couple obvious staunch Christian with bibles in hands... also on way back from a church.... on one side of us.... and a group of young teenagers complete with ipods, MP3's a mouthful of bad language... and a load of attitude... sitting over in a huddle the other side of us....
Getting the picture??? Ok then.... Now the fun bit... Then AJ decides to start quoting verses of the bible to me at full voices.... his humming of Kum bah Yah or whatever.... has now started into a rousing effort to get others on board.... [including me]...and he starts into praying for everybody on the bus....
Well then... you of course get the Christian couple who are just lapping this up.... they think I am by far the very best mother they have ever seen in their entire lives.... to them.... he is like the second coming!!! Out comes their bibles.... and they all start into a prayer.... I am sitting there just dying a slow death..... smiling away.... like I know exactly what they are all on about!!!!
Meanwhile..... you have the young group the other side who are by now taking the p*** big style.... Off go their MP3's etc.... hands go together in a praying motion.... and AJ and his new found friends take this as a conversion of sorts.... and continue preaching and praying for them!!! He opens up the book.... gives it to one of them and makes them read out something out of it.... I swear he does it on purpose .... so he can look better in the old ones eyes!!!!
I sit there so bemused... cause this one little boy has them all nearly singing a hymn by the end of the journey!!!!

And if by chance... he finishes his little 'sermon on the bus'.... early..... he has on occasions then turned around to me and asked me....''Tell me again.... How I came out your stomach''!!! LOL!!! Seriously.... you couldn't make this stuff up!!!
Aaaahhhhh... I miss him this week.... he's doing ok in grans up in Scotland.... He rang me today... misses me, can't wait to get home.... It's tooo quiet around here!!! I'm so bored without him about here!!! The fridge is full too!!! And I swear I am suffering from Pokemon, Ben10 and Power Rangers withdrawal symptoms as I haven't had them on all week!!!

Oh, please stop...stop it now....I don't want to think about that....and how exactly do you know this...I don't even want to know....I think you should hold off on the "talk" for as long as you can...because...my golly....we don't want to feed his curiosity...next thing you know...he'll be sitting on the couch, with a cigar hanging out of his mouth...the remote in one hand...and I mag. in the other....he'll be screaming lewd comments at all the women on TV while the cigar just dangles from his lips...and then he'll turn to you and tell ya he needs another beer and to make him a sandwich while you're at it....and then the phone will be ringing...constantly..with other young girls wanting to know why he hasn't called them back after their dates...he'll tell you to lie for him...say he's preoccupied...or not there..then you'll have to console them because they will be in a fit of tears

^^^ Ahhh Lol!!! You're sooooooooo funny!!! He's a pure wuss.... LOL!!! I have no worries about him in that area!!! LOL These events to me... are funny experiences... every child asks the odd question... every now and again.... compared to alot of the kids in his nearby peer group he's a little angel.... LOL!!!
I have trained him very well over the last few years.... you know... he does not set foot in someones house [on an initial visit] until he gives them a bunch of flowers or some chocs.... I don't want him turning out like your example either.... I'm too hard on him at times.... but because of that I don't worry about him!!! I do however worry about his overall future.... At the moment... he's only got me to answer all these questions for him.... I don't know the first thing about what it's like to be a young boy with hormones racing thru his system!!! That's what scares me.... not what he'll be like.... he's a mini me... he's not his dad!!! I am scared I won't know how to answer these questions.... sounds funny... but that's just me!!! Sorry if my horror stories scared you off tonight... he's a sweet boy really!!! I'll email you a few pics... soon!!! ....

Smiley...it's ok. I am sure he will turn out fine....and you didn't scare me...it's just that this generation seems to grow up a lot quicker. I remember when I was young...about his age....and for the most part...kids didn't think about stuff like that. You didn't have 6...7..or 8 year old girls trying to dress like hookers...they weren't over sexualized......trying to mimic adult behavior...they were kids...played with their dolls..played dress up....wore pigtails...and boys....well....girls were icky and gross....and they were always off doing their own thing...getting rough in the schoolyard...getting their pants dirty...you didn't see them worrying about these things...as well as their image... at least not at that age....

Hey girls! I got a good night's sleep but am still exhausted. I fear I'm on the verge of getting ill. I will fight it off with an Aspirin! helps is ill, too, seems like some virus is going around in middle Europe!
