A few days ago I was so pumped to see transformers. I couldnt stop talking about it and my parents had enough. They finally took me and during the trailers an up coming movie caught my eye. During transformers I thought a lot about the unnamed movie. What couldit be about, willthis movie fail miserably, and even, who is the director. When I got home, I rushed to my computer to find out more. And I found some info that startled me. Here it is:

As I was sitting there watching the trailers prior to transformers I became intrigued after seeing one trailer that began at a surprise party. The trailer showed a group of friends partying as they were saying farewell to a friend. After hearing several loud noises the party moves to the roof just in time to see a large fireball explode in the city as everyone runs for cover. As the trailer ends is shows the head of the statue of liberty being flung onto the streets with no explanation of what this phenomenon is.

After doing some research and hopping from blog site to blog site I discovered that the Trailer was for a film by J.J. Abrams that is currently in production. At this time the film has two Fake working titles according to IMDB.com, ‘Clover’ and ‘Cloverfeild’. At this point all I could dig up is that it has been written by Drew Goddard (Who has worked as both a producer and writer for TV shows ‘Lost’ and ‘Alias’ as well as writing credits for ‘Angel’ and ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’), With two executive producers J.J. Abrams (Best know for Writting Mission impossible III as well as writing and production credits for ‘Lost’, ‘Alias’, and ‘Joy Ride’. Abrams also wrote the Screen play for ‘Armageddon’) and Bryan Burk (Production credits for ‘Lost’ and ‘Alias’).

IMDB plot summary says “a giant monster movie (refferred internally as Godzilla) which is shot using home video cameras from the point of view of real people who are experiencing the attack on New York City.” So could we be in for another godzilla movie? Only time will tell

As for right now the only website for the movie is http://www.1-18-08.com/ which displays nothing more than a single frame from the preview made to look like a photo taken from a digital camera.

Some other Frequently asked questions are answered by IMDB.com

It’s a Godzilla movie

This hypothesis is based largely on a monstrous roar heard in the trailer, and glimpses of what appears to be a gigantic reptilian monster. It has been fueled by the discovery that the song, “The Joker and the Thief” by the band Wolfmother, is playing in the background; the song contains the lyric, “Standing in a field of clover” (the project has also been known as Cloverfield and Clover) and the CD cover art depicts a giant lizard. However, Sony owned the rights to the Godzilla franchise up until the time they expired in 2003. It is known that Toho, the owners of the Godzilla concept, have not sold the option to any other company since then. Since Paramount is producing this film, it is unlikely that Godzilla is involved.

It’s a remake of The Host

Based largely on the same visual evidence that supports the Godzilla theory, this line of thinking is also insupportable because the remake of The Host is being made at Universal.

It’s a live-action adaptation of Voltron

This is based entirely on a misinterpretation of a line of dialog in the trailer. The line is commonly misheard as, “It’s a lion! It’s huge!,” leading many to jump to the conclusion that the line refers to the lion-shaped vehicles that constitute Voltron. However, the line is actually, “It’s alive! It’s huge.” Also, the live-action Voltron is being produced at Universal.

It’s something to do with Lost

There are a number of clues that support this theory. Very little information about this project was available before the appearance of the trailer; “1-18-08″ appears to be a release date, and Paramount allegedly confirms that principal photography has not yet begun. This leads many to speculate that there isn’t time to shoot and complete a film of this type in less than six months, and therefore this is not a film at all but viral marketing for another project entirely. January 18, 2008 is also the approximate date of the debut of the new season of Lost (also produced by J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot production company), and several Lost fans have pointed out that the monstrous roar sounds very much like “Smoky”, the shapeless monster from Lost (although it’s not unlikely that Bad Robot would reuse an existing sound effect to save production costs on the trailer).

In short, we know very little about the subject of this project. All we do know is that it involves a large monster, and that it appears to be shot with handheld cameras in the manner of The Blair Witch Project. Studio press releases and interviews with Abrams and his associates have revealed only the presence of a monster, the setting of New York City, and the crew information presented on the project page here.

This is courtesy of scoopvendor.com. I think it will be amazing. But I want to know what you think of it.

Is any one even gonna look at this if no that alright.
