Great recap! Maybe I should watch the episode before commenting on this, but I find it so hard to believe that Lucas is a published writer!

Only my second episode ever, and already Brooke and Peyton are vying to dethrone Meredith Grey as my least favorite character on TV. But to their credit, they were dead-on about the hot nanny issue. I think we all see the inevitable "Nathan cheats with the Nanny" plot coming. Also, you should never loan money to friends, especially if it's to open their own record label in Tree Hill, North Carolina. Ditto on running a major clothing line from there. Terrible ideas. And Don, you're so right to call out the soap box derby thing as a Full House B-story. Still, Jamie is awesome, the only likable character on the show. Oh, and Nathan jumping in the pool was the most awful, yet hilarious scene ever.

I thought it was a pretty spectacular effort. You gotta understand that the show is a little bit of everything, including a little preachy at times, and a tad bit over the top. But it always has some great moments. Loved the basketball tryout speach about their credentials. I love the 4 year skip, it will be good to see the actors finally act their age.

One of my friends was saying to me last night that Mouth should be the writer, because no published author looks like Chad Michael Murray. It's kind of annoying that Lucas gets to be pretty AND athletic AND a brilliant writer. Life must be hard for him.

So true! I would have so much more respect for the show if Mouth were the writer! What was up with Nathan's hair too? He reminded me of Lieutenant Dan in Forrest Gump, with his bad hair, wheelchair, mopiness and jumping into the water.

Not only does Lucas have the career, athletic prowess and looks, but remember, he's dating a fine looking editor, and has a fine looking former girlfriend still jonesing for him. Oh woe is him. I know when I was 21 and a famous author, my life sucked too.
