Obama says he wants troops out of iraq where they are not needed and put them to afghan where they are needed! McCain says he wants to keep them in iraq and "bring them home with honour later" i would rather bring them home now and alive than later and dead... oh but with honour!

McCains blatent and embarrassing attacks is why he is so far behind, he is an old man with old views, time for change and Obama! I can't honestly see anything else but a Democratic win in November... im just so pissed off that Bush got in over Gore... bush ****ed things up and Gore went on to do a lot for Enviromental issues... if he was the president instead of the redneck, then the whole energy and enviroment problems wouldn't be as bad as they are now!

sorry I don't know so much about u.s. politics but i heared John McCain called his wife a C*** is this true? i know he called her a trollop as well... for me this guy has a too short temper to be in control of the worlds largest supply of nuclear weapons....

imho, John McCain is a true American Patriot, albeit currently extremely frustrated with little current support from by far most Americans, even including his own party and veterans who he has repeatedly failed. Hence, he's unfortunately evolved into a reckless, vicious, old fool.

If McCain repeated his decades-long presidential campaign, particularly his appealing 2004 campaign, and conventionally chose either multi-talented Mitt Romney or Tom Ridge as his VP running mate, I would have supported his ticket which would have avoided the now inevitable, Republican-earned Obama/Democratic landslide. Also personally, as the recent looong Republican rule has again demonstrated, governing dominance by either party is bad for everyone except a small, despicable minority of the well-connected and corrupt. fyi, an expected Democratic party Congressional landslide was already conceded months ago, and is solidifying.

However imho, think our American election is absolutely critical to our global well-being, and think everyone should become publicly involved such as British PM Gordon Brown courageously did. Please scream your insights, concerns, and other related thoughts!

No worries about the Finnish thing mate

In Scotland we say cheers... infact a lot of people prefer that word over thank you when talking with people, the Gaelic (which is our 2nd language, only really used by a few people in the north) is Slange, which is cheers.

On the politics i agree with what you say, but i think for his campaign palin was a big plus for him brings a lot of focus on him and also gets the "hockey mom" demographic. But his constant hatrid and anger makes people think... wait a minute, you want us to trust this psyco?

In europe i know of NO ONE who prefers McCain over Obama, everyone loves Obama here, because we don't get your bias media and fall for the patriot vs terrorist Bull**** that fox says... we can see that Obama will bring reason and peace, and McCain will bring war and he has NO clue on the economy.... and i think deeo down America knows the same... even rupert murdoch fox owner says Obama will landslide win!

Yeah McCain is definetly out there. I guarantee if he gets elected he will make one decision (at least) that will completely f*ck us. Like invade china because he saw that newsouth park episode and thought he was watching CNN.
btw Bush was a pretty bad president but he's funny as hell. that W. movie is gonna be hilarious

McCain is acctually dangerous! and palin is a manipualitive **** no matter all the racist **** she talks about obama and how many courts say she acted wrong you still see these middle american idiotic women with the i heart sarah signs... **** off! this isn't wwe, its a general election why is america the only country that thinks its a good idea to stand in a crowd holding up bits of cardboard???

Like Rich, I really liked the Old John McCain, the one that ran in 2004 and before. I actually believed all of the "Washington Outsider" stuff, and while his "Maverick" image was not as genuine as he tries to make it out to be (he was, after all, one of the Keating 5...for more info on that little debacle http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keating_Five)), he was more willing than most to make decisions on something other than what the Party Line was.

However, in the past 4 years he seems to have dropped any pretense of being (and I am really starting to hate this word) a "maverick" and has moved decidedly right--a far cry from the days when he considered going Indy or Dem! He has kowtowed to the far right for the last few years, even courting the Evangelicals, which were never his supporters. He hired for this campaign the same guys who smeared his character in the most despicable way--saying that one of his adopted children was actually a love child that he forced his wife to adopt!

And I wonder, after reading his own book, how much his character has really changed. He admits that he was a jerk, impulsive and a misogynist for most of his life. He says that all of this changed during his POW experience. But AFTER his return he played on his family name for advancements that he was not qualified for. One example that doesn't really have to do with a career appointment that he should not have gotten but for his name (there are plenty of those, believe me), was that he was given his pilot's wings back after he got back from Vietnam and was cleared to fly--even though he can't raise his arms about his shoulders! He crashed a plane (his 3rd by the way) after getting his wings back.

The changes that he has made in order to get elected--the RADICAL changes--have lead me to question his true nature. Service to the country aside (and I am not saying that he shouldn't be commended for that, but no more than the hundreds of other POWs), his record id not that great. He developed a persona that he played after the Keatings scandel--The Maverick. And then when that didn't work, he became a war mongering neo-con, changing his position to line up with that of the Conservative Republicans. It says a lot that he would dump all of those "principles" just to be elected...if they are so easily discarded, were they ever really priciples at all, or just part of the role that he was playing?

Finally, I think there is something to be said about the fact that even his close friends and allies describe his as hot tempered (he is famous for really letting loose on people when he is mad). He is also described as irratic and reckless-both things that have been proven time and time again. And watch the debates again...you can see that he really has a hard time holding his tongue and he looks angery and impatient.

Yeah i hate Sarah Palin too, i was watching the daily show (thats about the only way i watch polics lol) and she spent like 25,000$ of the governments money on designer suits and hotel suites and s*** for her husband and kids. And all that s*** she says about her self being a working class american. she said something like "and i feel at home, because i see all the steel toe boots and the ....."
I can't stand how she lies about herself like that. She's spending 5 G's on designer suits and she says she's working class? get the f*** outta here.

Actually it wasn't the government's money, it was the Republican Party's money that was raised for the McCain campaign. And it wasn't $25,000 it was $150,000. The Republican Party thought that a $150K make-over was a good use of campaign donations.

It is a bit ridiculous to play yourself off as a "Joe Six-Pack" kind of gal while wearing a $700 pair of Monolo Blahnik's on your feet rather than a $50 pair of Steel-toe work boots, isn't it?

And I too am baffled that anyone still takes her seriously. I understand the post-convention bounce...She was new! She was fresh! She was an average hockey mom! She was a woman! It is understandable that people got excited about her at that point, but now we know all of this stuff about her--that the joke that Tina Fey as Palin made about her national security experience including the fact that she can keep an eye on Russia from her country, was ACTUALLY SOMETHING THIS WOMAN SAID!! That she is ethically questionable, uses her position to grant favors for others and isn't really anti ear-mark spending like she says. I can't believe with all we have seen and heard about her that anyone supports her.
