| Senior Member | I'm just hoping we can keep that religious nutsack Huckabee from being the republican nomination. Something about anyone who isn't Christian wouldn't be considered Americans and his old plan about locking up people with infectious diseases sounds a tad bit too Hitler-esque for me. I'm pulling for Ron Paul but if he doesn't make it on the ticket, I would vote for Hillary because it's not like she can do a worse job than what we have going on right now...

| Moderator ![]() | Primary night in NH was insane...even my "small town" was packed...broke a few records on the Democratic side. Just glad all the calls, road signs, ads and "door knockers" are gone...I got sick of answering the door wearing my "Barack Clinton" t-shirt and then having to explain to some 18 year old scumbag why I wouldn't tell them who I was voting for. Hello?! Secret Ballot? Get off my porch! For the record ... I'm a registered Independent. And the Republicans (aside from McCain...he was a P.O.W. alongside my uncle) scare the crap out of me. Mitt Romney is a live-action Thunderbird character! They're preying on the fears of the elder voters..."We're gonna build a GIANT fence...yeah...that's it - and electrify it! Down with Immigrants! Up with God!" Of course, the Democrats "promising" to do things...um, pretty sure the president doesn't do crap. They propose, hope and sign/veto something. Congress is the real power. Give me a candidate who will honestly say they'll try to do something and, sure, we need taxes to PAY FOR all the services the people need - as well as removing the debt we've worked up - so there won't be cutbacks (sorry). It's not American Idol (thank Dharma) ... but we still vote like it's a 12th grade popularity contest. C'mon America. Wake up. Ron Paul is great, although he's like the Republican version of Kucinich (sp?)... you want to vote for him, but he's got those crazy tangents. Even though they strangely make sense, sometimes they're so off kilter that you can't really take him seriously. | |

| Senior Member | ah come on... what's so scary about Ron Paul? I'm with you though, independent all the way... I don't pick one side or another because I am aligned with a particular party. It should be about issues and ideals not who is what party. I'm pretty sure most people have views that are on both sides of the aisle. There's things I side with republicans and things I side with democrats. I think it's dangerous to blindly follow on side or the other. 2 party politics will end up being the death of this country... we need REAL change!

Pretty sure the president does more than sit there and look pretty. Good thing too... cause if he did George Bush wouldn't be doing a very good job of that either with his mug. Quote:
According to the primary update page I had gone to the state is 94% Caucasian... 1% African American and Obama still nearly took down Hillary. The other thing these asshats(the news) need to realize is that its all about the delegates... and its not like Hillary made up any ground in that area... both candidates got the same number of delegates based on their vote totals. Oh.. one last thing I realized last night... now that both have established themselves as 'viable' candidates.. the democratic nomination is down to solely being about who will be the other's vice president. So really.. there are no losers on that side of the isle. Except for Kucinich of course.. but that was kind of expected. -TH

| Honestly it doesn't matter who we elect. Obviously some people are morons! I haven't seen one thing Obama has done for Illinois. Hillary is a disaster We also don't need some religious freak in the wh either. It does;t matter what they say or what the promise. Nothing ever comes true. Ron Paul says he will abolish the IRS - I mean come on do you really think that will happen??? This country is so far in debt its not even funny. We should all boycott the election and not vote. But even that won't matter because of the Electoral College. They make us think our vote counts - it doesn't. |
