| Some of you will undoubtedly agree with me, but it is those of you out there that disagree with me that i want to know... why? This was a completely generic, pc version of what was actually a good book. Ron Howard? Please!!! I am amazed the movie wasn't rated G. I am writing this in an effort to stop anyone who reads this from wasting their money and two hours of their lives. One day you'll thank me.

| Time would be better spent on the History Channel, I guess? They have really been going all out doing documentaries about all sorts of things in the book.

| TAD, you're welcome.... as always. abz, time is always better spent on something that you can learn from! I hope you didn't see the movie either. I have seen better acting in hemerroids commercials.

| I wish I'd have read this first. I saw it. Well, it wasn't terrible, but it wasnt up to the hype either. It could have been a lot better. It starts off well, and there's some good camerawork, but it really loses momentum about halfway, and by the end, you just dont care anymore and i nearly drifted off to sleep. The best character is Vache, easily and the actors do their best with the script. Stick to the book, it seems shorter... |

| I have read the booked and thought the movie was just ok. I did not like how they changed so many important aspects from the book to the movie. I mean why did they have to say he was not even her grandfather? That is pretty much the whole point with her character in the book. I think people that have not read the book will like the movie. My husband thought it was great, but had not read the book. So, there you have it! |

| how i really feel? Here's a start: Tom Hanks If you had never seen tom Hanks in another movie you would think, "where did they find this Shlep?" AWful. His performance was awful. And to make matters worse he is an academy award winner! That makes his performance in this monsterpiece that much worse. Why is he so lackluster? Somebody should check him for a pulse. I thought he was a completely wrong fit for the character. He said every line as if he was on the verge of going to sleep after Letterman. And I didn't buy into him being that knowledgable either. He didn't look like he understood anything he was talking about. Poor job Tom! And the icing on the cake is that many people will go to see this movie based on his name. What a let down. So let me iterate: save your money, read the book. Have a nice day!!!!
