If you had never seen tom Hanks in another movie you would think, "where did they find this Shlep?" AWful. His performance was awful. And to make matters worse he is an academy award winner! That makes his performance in this monsterpiece that much worse. Why is he so lackluster? Somebody should check him for a pulse. I thought he was a completely wrong fit for the character.

He said every line as if he was on the verge of going to sleep after Letterman. And I didn't buy into him being that knowledgable either. He didn't look like he understood anything he was talking about. Poor job Tom!

And the icing on the cake is that many people will go to see this movie based on his name. What a let down. So let me iterate: save your money, read the book.

Have a nice day!!!!
Okay, okay.... sheesh.... loosen the bone, Wilma. It's 'cause his name is Tom, huh?

Make that 2 + 1/2 hours wasted. I went to see it this afternoon and having never read the book, figured out the big "she's the heir" thing 30 mins into the movie and had to wait another 2 hrs for the reveal. Very disappointing effort by Tom and Ron. They should have had M Night Shyamalan direct.

You know what, I never thought of that... THAT would have at least given the movie a fair chance of being good.

Sorry about your wasted time, I am trying to get the word out as fast as I can...
