Default Britains

Alright people from Britian I have a question for you but of course it has to do with possible slang...

Here I am sitting at the computer listening to some Corinne Baily Rae and I hear the word gossamer in "enchantment" and then there's gamine in "choux pastry heart". What exactly do these words mean cause I've never heard them used before and since CBR is British (I'm 99.9% sure about that but that's not 100%) I fugured I'd ask you guys.
