All right I can't be the only person here who has a friend who thinks she's fat but she really weighs 110 pounds. I am really scared for her and I don't know what to do because yesterday all she had was water. I need some advice on what I can do to convince her that she's not fat. What can I do to help her?

Make her watch The Machinist...while playing Sir Mixalot.

Seriously, people with that frame of mind cannot be "convinced" -- they need professional help and an intervention would be a good start.

Remind me never to ask you for advice Dr Gartism!

Although seriously, your right about them seeking professional help.

Yeah well I threatened to book her a guidence appointment. Didn't work. Then I tried the whole "lying about my weight to make her feel better"and again it didn't work.

I agree. The best thing to do is to seek professional help. As a friend of hers, I think you should encourage her to view herself in terms other than weight and figure. Make her identify her personal strengths, like her talents, etc. That could boost her self-perception.

Just don't "go it alone". If you've noticed, other people have as well...ask around.

If you're concerned about "professional help" -- go the sex route. Find a group of people she's attracted to and get a few to tell her she's too skinny for them.

Emotional damage does the most to shock someone out of their perceptions of the world. It might sound harsh (and is) but it's also the truth
