the california song is like the OC's trademark. it cant be removed

I like the song. I have a problem though: everytime I hear it I look towards a screen expecting an episode of OC. When I don't find an episode I get quite bleak.

It's a great song, i had the chance to hear it before The OC, but when I saw at the beginning of the show I could not believe what my ears where listen to.
Phantom Planet is a great group, i also like "somebody's baby" and "lonely day"

I agree that the song shouldn't be changed because that would be really weird every year hearing a new song. Now you hear the song you think 'the oc is on!' and it wouldnt be like that if they changed it.

I agree completely. They never changed the Friends song (Ill be there for you - Rembrandts) and that song is just synonymous with Friends.
