I Hated The Cover Of 'yellow'...

Ok. Firstly, let me say that I always love the music from the OC since I'm a huge indie rock/pop fan. And this cover of 'yellow' did fit the scene. However, when I listen to it now after the episode, just on my iPod, it is horrible.

Chris Martin has one of the most beautiful voices and I don't think anyone could ever touch Coldplay's original version... it still sends shivers up my spine.

But with all due respect to Petra Haden & Bill Frisell, their voices simply don't do the song justice... they have murdered a classic.

Does anybody else agree, or is it just me?

Ok, let me just say I've never been a big fan of Coldplay, however, I do think they've made some good songs.

I don't agree with you. I think this versionis a beautiful version, and as you pointed out it fits very well in the episode, but I still think, also alone, that it is a beautiful verion. But I understand how you feel and if I was a coldplay fan I would for sure think as you. One the other hand I almost always love the origional songs much better than the others, so where I will agree with you is that the song is better with coldplay, however, I still like this version as well.

i think that the original is way better, but imo the petra hayden version fits the scene and oc totally!

I think its somehow the same like Youth Group - Forever Young! The Alphaville version is awesome but would have never fit the OC! Youth Group does... so i think all versions rock ^_°

I loved this version, dont get me wrong I love Coldplay but sometimes a change is nice. But if you're a Brit- you'll know who G4 are and they MURDERED this song when they sung it, so it just shows that sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt!

I loved that version. It did really fit the scene. I havent heard it properly on it's own.

Hey,it wasnt that terrible,but I was live on concert of Coldplay.
They played it.
It was much better...
I always like originals more.

Yellow always annoyed me, too depressing.
And the cover was worse.
