Default It's Here....Save Marissa Day

Here is a pre written letter that you can send to the websites, tv shows, radio stations, any one in the media!
*After the letter will be a list of addresses to send this too*

Dear Member of the Media,

As you are probably aware, on May 18th the season finale of The O.C. killed off one of its main characters, Marissa Cooper. This unforgiving move by the creator, Josh Schwartz, has caused an outrage among the fans and in the world of the internet. A petition has been created and has received close to 30, 000 signatures. The petition can be viewed at http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/savemarissacooper. Since the beginning of the petition hundreds of websites have become devoted to saving Marissa, evolving into a full fledged Save Marissa Campaign. A website has been developed that tracks the entire campaign and has given a voice to the enraged fans. This website has also just launched an alternative to the online petition, The Virtual Protest. Fans are asked to send in a photo of them selves to be posted in the Main Protest photo which eventually will be printed out and sent to FOX and Josh. The campaign page can be found at www.savincoop.com/savemarissacampaign

You may ask your self why the fans are so angry, we are all aware that the ratings were dropping and it seemed that the show was losing momentum. You may think this, but you would be wrong! In season 1 and 2, we all fell in love with a show about 4 teens, “The Fab Four”. It was a brilliantly written script with Seth’s quirkiness, Marissa’s teen queen drama antics, Ryan’s bad boy ways and Summer Roberts, who is best known as “Little Miss Vixen”. Even more brilliant was the on- again, off-again but truly genuine relationship between our favorite couple, Marissa and Ryan. This is a couple we have cried with, laughed with, been scared with and scared for in the past 3 seasons. When you have such a dynamic couple as a driving force for millions of fans to tune in each week, anxiously awaiting a glimpse into the couple’s future, you do not go killing one of them off! This does not go to say that Marissa or her relationship with Ryan was the entire focus of the show. However it was crucial enough that killing her off has brought us here and has caused thousands of fans to unite in saying they will never watch the show again.
Many fans feel that killing of Marissa Cooper was a slap in the face for the devotee’s. This whole shtick about launching the show in a new directions is like saying the current fans aren’t good enough, we want some new ones. Now this brings us to Season 3, which might not be the fan favorite but can be viewed as a transitional season. Many fail to recognize that the third season brought us great new characters and new story lines and millions of fans stuck by. The show had to wrap up the characters high school years and bring them into a new direction but the directions they have chose will not fly with us.

Even with all its drama, The O.C. is a comic show. How are we supposed to laugh again with such a tragedy bestowing season 4?? We as fans vow to “No Marissa! No O.C!”
And we demand to be heard. We write to you in hopes of getting our story shared with the world and to make the fans aware that there is an outlet out there for their anger, the petition and virtual protest.

Sincerely,
A supporter and a fan

Mod here. Please keep the O.C. posts to the O.C. section, and not to other sections of the forum. Thanks.
