The NineOn Saturday, the powers-that-be at ABC announced that they would be pulling The Nine from their schedule. Much-hyped and critically acclaimed coming into the season, The Nine failed to gain a wide viewership, even with it's cushy time slot. You'd think that an edgy, high-concept serial drama would thrive in the post-Lost time slot, but, obviously, this was not the case. The Nine regularly retained less than half of Lost's audience.

We recently had the pleasure of speaking with Hank Steinberg, creator of The Nine, in an exclusive interview. Hank was more than genial in his talk with us, and expressed how confident ABC was with The Nine and the concept behind it. As we all know, ratings trump all else in television.

I totally agree w/ your theory about a dramatic show after Lost. Another thing. The DWTS's results show could be gripping followed by Lost that usually left some kind of cliffhanger. It was too much to delve into all the intricasies(sp?) of the Nine after all THAT drama. Whew. Wenes night was proving exhausting And too many hours in front of the TV.

"ABC should focus on creating something ...totally artificial that will allow the Lost fanatics to turn their brains off..." Wow.

Isn't there enough programming that fits that criteria? Too much, even.

Lost fans may appreciate answers being given each episode vs. no answers and main characters constantly being killed off.

All of the networks (CBS, NBC, ABC) do not keep a series on long enough for any real feedback. Just after a few weeks, they pull the show off the air which is so frustrating. The networks cancel good shows and replace them with really stupid shows. That makes no sense. Please put The Nine back on. For this week, the week of August 12, 2007 the TV Guide had The Nine being shown on Wednesday night. Unfortunately, it was replaced with a NASCAR show. Who Cares!!!! I don't. I want to see The Nine. Thank you.

Put The Nine back on for Christ's sake- it's better than most of the shows on TV!!! How many times are they going get us hooked on it to just yank it again? Just play the remaining episodes for those of us who thought it was a great show! If they took the time to make it and spent the $$$$ why don't they stand by it and PLAY all of them???? NASCAR??? Idiots!

The Nine was a good show. I despise the article saying that after much hype the show still lost viewers when I never saw it advertised or hyped at all. I was surprised to see it on in August as I had no idea that the new season was even starting. I agree that Lost is a great show and very hard to follow. Then why not put it on later and put another show like The Nine in its place. I do not think that ABC gave this show a fair chance. It is a better show then some of the other stuff that ABC airs. I believe that all 13 eposodes should be aired and the a finale would be nice.
