Are there any bands/singers that are labelled emo? I hate it when people call RHCP emo. Your views...

I have views....and I hope that they make sense....please forgive me. The 60's gave us Garage The 70's saw this morph into Punk The latter part of the decade morphed again....into a few separate directions. Some would be angry......as Kings X and The Clash. Some would be bubble-gummish....such as the Cars, Blondie and the B-52s. Some would embrace the Dark Side of the Force....such as Joy Division, Bauhaus...and a bit later...the Sisters of Mercy. After The Wave......Grunge took over....and they reigned. and then ....all was lost to a mindless and senseless morass of studio tricks....with no real sense of peace, love and understanding.

I know no one has posted in this thread for a while, but no one answered the original question. Of course there are bands/singers labelled emo. My Chemical Romance is a popular one, Roulette is also another one. They are labelled emo because of the 'emo'tion they bring to their songs. Very intense, very strong, very complex. I dont quite understand the emo mentality because I am not emo, but that is for another thread!
