I did love them when I was a teenager and still like them very much.

I live in Hungary, and literally every girl I know was OBSESSED with them. (When their first album Schrei was coming out) They had so many fans here, they were on every cover for like 4 months of every magazine in Hungary. After a while they finally came to Hungary to perform live at the Hungarian Viva Comet awards. Remember, they had a HUGE fanbase in Hungary! So they came here, millions of people went to the awards JUST to see them. And guess what they did? They sang to playback. I wouldn't call people who go to a different country with millions of screaming fans, and then they don't even sing. =/

| Yes, that's true, too. But their manager should know that's not smart... people paid lots of money to see them perform live. If they wanted to listen to playback they could just go home and put on a CD. Plus, I know, if I was a musician, I wouldn't let people tell me to sing with playback... I'll just tell them NO! I'm the singer, so I'm singing how I want. lol anyway, that's just how I feel.

| I am not sure about Viva Comet show, but unfortunately a lot of TV shows always use playback. Now I have no clue about music industry but I guess it's much cheaper and faster to do playbacks, so if you refuse, you are refusing promotion for your band. Plus some contract probably regulates what you can and can't refuse. As for Tokio Hotel, I was in Paris in July when there was that fraternity festival and I think they were really good (look up concert de la fraternité if you are fan and missed it). It was then I first heard of them (they are huge in France) and started to take more interest. Got their CDs, went to Milano concert past October and they did not disappoint. They are not the best band in the world, but hardly the worst either. Everything is exaggerated around them, hype and hate, and I can't really understand all that fainting girls, nor that pointless vicious bashing they get from 'haters'. And they sure work very hard all over Europe. |

I saw them (I think) performing at the EMAs (?) while I was looking for something to watch on TV. I think that band was them, but their vocalist looked and sounded like a girl.Oh, and sorry but no. I don't like them. It's just not my type of music. | |
