Hey, i never noticed it the first time because i saw the ring before i started watching The OC. I saw the ring the second time then i saw him. He is at the niece's funeral and he first tells her about the tape.

yeah I didn't notice him at the time because I didn't watch The O.C. but then I started to watch it and my friend pointed him out to me

I know what you mean. I saw the Ring but I didn't really notice him. He looked really weird and crazy in that movie, but then again everyone else did too.
