moonlightTV ratings aren't usually interesting for fans to read. But for a show like Moonlight, which significantly relies on the ratings for a second season order, the numbers mean a lot to hardcore viewers.  With all the blood shedding efforts and campaigns to promote the CBS vampire detective series, fans will be pleased to know that Moonlight has successfully returned last week with a bang.

The cult-favorite drama Moonlight aired its first post-strike episode, “Fated to Pretend,” last Friday, drawing 8 million viewers and earning an average rating of 2.1 in adults 18 to 49, according to Nielsen. While the numbers may seem complicated to digest, this simply means that Moonlight won the 9pm hour and helped CBS win the night.

Don't be too happy- Moonlight had the lowest rating for CBS for the night with both GW and Numbers higher. With moonlight in the middle it look more like a loser than a winner as it could not keep the GW fans and they came back for Numbers. Still in flux and no news on season two.

I hope Moonlight continues to do well and that we have a second season next year. It is a good show and there is so much stories that could be told. I hope Josef and Mick fight more often because they are very cool fighting the bad guys.

It's wonderful news. Of course, just because the show wins once in a while doesn't mean a thing. Networks always cancel the best shows and leave the crap on forever.

Best episode in a while. For Mick
to give up his Humanity for Beth
was so cool. The bite scene between Mick and
Josef was way to awesome. Yes, to
hope that one episode will keep it on for
next season is just crazy. We always lose
the good stuff and are left with the !@#!@.

I'm glad to hear that CBS is glad to see the numbers that showed for Moonlight's return. I think this show could garner twice the viewers easily if the way viewers were counted was far more accurate than simply neilson and Tivo. Many more of us fans are never counted through the ratings system. I hope CBS knows that and acknowledges a good thing when they see it in Moonlight. I also hope many more realize there is something for everyone in this show and give it a shot if they haven't already or even if they did and gave up at the begining. The show has evolved quite a bit. That combined with the show having great chase and fight scenes, a little romance for some, and a wonderful drama and PI layer, not to mention the film noir layer...this show has it all!!!
