I believe the reviewer is a bit too harsh with Moonlight. Unlike many people here, when I started watching Moonlight I was a bit skeptic about it. Judging by the premises it looked like an Angel and Forever Knight rip off. Well...it isn't. I watched both shows, I was a fan of both and Moonlight IS different! You ask what are Micks' motivations...well, if you had closely watched the shows you wouldn't need asking! He isn't doing good to earn brownie points with Beth...saving her when she was a child prompted him to make a difference, to help. And honestly? I find this even more appealing than be forced to help the helpless because of a curse or because of a prophecy! About the Spike thing? What made Buffy spiraling toward oblivion was sloppy writing and Joss disinterest in the show! Spike had nothing to do with that! I completely disagree with everything you said. And I don't think it's fair to compare Moonlight to Angel, because they are different. And, since we are at it, the

and since we are at it...I watched every single episode of Buffy...and you seem to forget how much the first season sucked! There were a few nice episodes ...but have you forgotten about the hyenas episode? The Robot episode? It took a while to the show to find its "voice" but when he did it became the show you rave so much about! You're basing your opinions on a new show by comparing it to old ones? Vampire's myth has been in literature forever! There are tons of variations on the theme of vampirism. Anne Rice's vampires are different than Bram Stoker's...Bram Stoker's are different than John Polidori's. It's called creativity, you know? Making Mick a private investigator who help people not necessarily connected to vampires make him different than Angel. Moonlight is not a masterpiece, it needs to find its "voice", but I think he's getting there...the actors are very good, the chemistry between the two leads is amazing, their building a new mythology...and IMHO it just needs ti

| Moderator ![]() | I agree with every word of this article except the Spike bits but, we will just have to agree to disagree there. This show is HORRIBLE. Hands down the WORST show of the new fall line up. |

Absolutely love this show. I see great chemistry between Mick & Beth. The end of each show leaves you wanting more! Hope this show is on for years to come. Alex O'Loughlin's facial expressions and voice are to die for.

"Anonymous said: No charisma? No chemistry? Are we watching the same show? If there were any more charisma and chemistry, I'd have to smoke a cigarette after each episode! : - )" Imigosh, I agree 100%

So sorry, NO CHARISMA?!?! NO CHARM?!?!?! You are obviously not watching the same program that I am. Alex O'Loughlin is dripping with charisma & charm. Mick's inner struggles & the way that Mick & Beth look at each other, you simply must be BLIND!! I did think this week's episode "Arrested Development" was not one of the best, but you can't argue with "Fever" and "Out Of The Past". I would like to see more development of Josef's character, he is so blunt and matter-of-fact, which is in great contrast to the deep thought Mick puts into everything. Very good show, can't wait to see what kind of ride they take us on next!! As for Buffy and Angel, they were so much into the ghouls & goblins, I just couldn't get into it!!

All new shows need time to get the cast working well together, and although the first couple episodes were a little rough, the last few are MUCH better and the chemistry between the characters is great. Last night's episode practically had me panting----I had to rewind the Tivo and re-watch the scene where Beth shows up at Mick's place several times because it was so hot! Keep up the good work, CBS!

This review is bogus. "Vampires are soulless creatures...who relish in evil..." Um...who says? Sorry, Buffy is dead! Finally. It takes more than a hot blonde with a cute butt to take down evil, and one-liners don't do it either. I like motivations, inner demons, and flawed but likable characters. I'm a fan of both Blade and Underworld, and while I think most vampire stuff silly, I think this one is worthy of attention. What makes villains evil? Is it the fact that they enjoy evil, or do they think their motivations are pure? If you enjoy evil for evil's sake, go back and read your 1960's Supermans. If you enjoy things that are evil because they've lived so long they've forgotten what it's like to be human, you may just like "Moonlight."

Whew! Unappealing lead? In what universe? !@#!@ization of vampire mythology? Oh yeah, I forgot. You can't tamper with reality when you write fiction. And since we've all accepted that vampire mythology is reality..well, gee, let's not tamper with it. I guess that also covers your 'vampires are soulless creatures of the night' remark - I love people who get so caught up in a fictional universe that they begin to believe the rules really apply. Lack of chemistry? Actually, the attraction wasn't supposed to be present in the first episode - he seems vaguely familiar (because he saved her when she was a child), and he, of course, knows who she is. The attraction builds over several episodes as they get to know each other. BTW, they didn't walk in the desert for an entire day. It was 2 miles.
