I believe that the reviewer is being too harsh on the show. The first several episodes were engaging, especially with Mick's backstory. It is not as good as Buffy or Angel, but those shows were comedy-dramas. This show is more serious, but not to the violent-gory extremes of the Blade movie series. As for the rules for vampires, it is nice to see them treated more realistically. In the Buffyverse, the vampires turned to dust because it was easier for the producers, not because of long-standing vampire tradition. My largest complaint is that Moonlight seems to transform into a Hallmark Movie of the Week when it gets sappy. While not the best new supernatural show of the season (Pushing Daisies and Reaper are far superior), this show easily is the best in the wasteland of Friday night television.

I love the show. I don't compare it to Angel, etc. It is more like Forever Knight, although I thought Nick was sexier :0 . I also watch Blood Ties and I like Mick better than Henry.

I love the show. I've been Tivo-ing it for a couple of weeks to watch the Women's Murder Club, but after watching the last two episodes yesterday, I'm more inclined to watch Moonlight. I like Mick's quiet strength.

I like Friday Night Lights and watch it online. I hate that 3 shows I like are on at the same time. I really Moonlight and Friday Night Lights both end up staying on the air.

you know what? I am so sick of everybody comparing Moonlight to the vast repatoire of has-been wanna-be vampire-mini-thrillers from two decades ago.

Judge Moonlight for itself, not as sequel to Buffy or Blade.

Personally, speaking as one who has never watched Buffy, seen very little of Blade and nothing of Blood Ties; I find the show engaging and entertaining. Alex O'laughlin has great promise, but I would expect a little more out of Sophia Myles.

Default Moonlight

I have been looking forward each week to my vampire Fridays, since both Moonlight and Blood Ties air on Friday night. I find that both shows offer their own different take on the "vampire" scenerio. After all, just like humans I'm sure each vampire would be unique in his/her own way. I enjoy watching both shows.

I had no use for Buffy or Angel, but Moonlight is GREAT! I can't imagine what show you were watching when you said the characters had no chemistry. OMG, I thought my tv screen was going to melt every time Mick & Beth looked at each other! The fact that he is the most gorgeous thing on TV right now doesn't hurt the show at all, and his voice is as gorgeous as his face. Sophia Myles is beautiful and the perfect compliment to Alex O'Loughlin. I hope they're on for YEARS to come!!

No charisma? No chemistry?
Are we watching the same show?

If there were any more charisma and chemistry, I'd have to smoke a cigarette after each episode! : - )

OMG! I love this show. I have never been into the whole vampire thing like Blade or Underworld. But, this show, has a quiet strength that cannot be compared to. Buffy was simply for the teen audience. Moonlight is targeting a completely different demographic. My husband and I are addicted. We can't wait for each show to come on each week. I am glad to hear that CBS has ordered 4 more episodes. I agree that Mick and Beth have chemistry. They sizzle when they look at each other. Beth's boyfriend will not last long.
