"Moonlight Frozen Food Ad"On its second week, Moonlight's ratings went down from it's debut week and was the lowest rated CBS show last Friday, but it finished way in front of the second season premiere of Friday Night Lights.  It received a 5.4 rating/10 share compared to Friday Night Light's 4.2/7 according to Nielsen.

Despite the decline from its maiden telecast, Moonlight is getting strong word of mouth promotion aside from the significant marketing it continues to receive from the network.  Aside from this, advertisements for the show have been popping up on the glass doors of frozen food sections in various supermarkets.  A few days before it premiered last September 28, CBS and Warner Bros. took several journalists from Monsters and Critics on a tour of the sets used for Moonlight.  Here's what some of the series' lead stars had to say about their program.

The second episode was a lot better than the first one. I find the depiction of Mick as resembling an addict when he is so desperately in need of blood to be an interesting departure from previous vampiric portrayals in film and tube.

I'm hoping very hard for this show's survival. CBS could consider this Supernatural Fridays and leave it at that.

Moonlight's ratings went down in its second week, but only by a hair: 8.63 mil versus 8.25 mil. And I agree with anonymous; the second episode was better. -sa@bonasi.com

I was skeptical at first but after I watched the first two episodes on cbs.com I was hooked. One of my new favorite shows and I hope it sticks around for a little while.

We like it, but it's not one of our favorites this year. I think it will fail if it just remains a PI show. Its best bet, I believe, it to focus on the romance angle. With next week's preview, it appears that they may be heading in that direction.

As each week passes, the episodes get better; they should play on the romantic angle between Mick and Beth; I think this show has a shot, if only the network gives it a chance.

I adore this show! Its my favorite show on TV. I find myself very impatient while waiting for Friday's to see the next epiosode. The cast has chemistry and the screeen practically oozes sexuality when Alex O'Loughlin and Sophia Myles are in a scene together. CBS really needs to pick up this show for a full season. To my mind, its the best new show of the season! LONG LIVE MOONLIGHT!

I had really, really, really high hopes for Moonlight. It has Jason Dohring and it's about vampires, after all! But I'm sad to say that after watching the first two, I don't think I'll be watching any more episodes of it. Maybe my expectations were too high? I dunno.

First episode was good, the second was better, and the third was better still. Very good program with deep, deep potential and I will certainly keep watching. My advice would be to delve into the histories of these characters, keep developing their "mythologies," and not make the romance between the two primary leads too sugary sweet.
