1: All the survivors are all linked somehow
2: No-one knows what happens right after the crash.. maybe all the survivors were chosen for an experiment, and are connected to a mainframe per say. this then allows plausible theories for the smoke monster, jacob, and walt's powers.
3: the others know everything about the survivors, maybe due to some kind of machine from this "mainframe" that reads memories (smokey?)
4: The island may not have mysterious healing powers because they probably aren't there.. this would explain the ageing, locke's paralysis and rose's cancer as well as the whispering in the jungle.
5: new people like faraday and straume have been hacked in?? exploring the islands (mainframes) abilties.

this is the only thing i can think of that allows all the abnormal occurrences to happen on the island. any thoughts??? i probably am wrong but you never know.

I'm not sure about your theories. I do think everyone is connected and "meant to be" on the island for some reason.

I think everyone is connect to each other so they can all be each others "constants." It a way for them to stabilize once they begin to jump time periods like Desmond. All they would have to do is go back to when they met someone on the island and then meet them again on the island and they will be alright.
