| When Jack asks the pilot, did the Red Sox really win the series. The pilot replies "dont get me started, my dad is from the Bronx and Im a huge yankees fan..." or something to that effect. I think it is fair to assume that the pilot of the helicopter, Frank Lapidus is the man in the coffin. He is one of the few people that have an idea where the island is and how to get back to it (because he has been there before) and this would explain Jack's feelings. Further, we know he has roots to New York, where the funeral takes place. Finally, it would explain why Kate or no one else went to see him because its not someone the losties were close with. Anyways thats my theory and Im interested if anyone agrees or disagrees. |

| yeah i doubt its Lapidus, i dont see jack getting work up about him dying, he was a yanks fan after all and i dont think jack would think lapidus could get him back to the island, he knows how elusive it is, you cant just look at a bearing and fly straight there |

| Member | They also said to note that it was a small coffin, like child sized. So I'm personally thinking Walt, being in the coffin.

| I read last week an interview with Matthew Fox in the Entertainment Weekly, and they asked if he knew who was in the coffin. He answered that at first he thought he could act without knowing, but they decided his perfomance would be better if he knew. Anyway, all this to say that he was surprised by who it was, but beleived there was great chances that it could be someone different by the time it is revealed. |
