| I was watching lost with my niece and daughter, What an episode!!!!!!! Anyway whille Eli stone served as white noise in the back we had our discussion The hanso foundation sets up Dharma stations on an island to investigate it for some reason. The island turns out to be the realm of the dead and holds people-the root of the word Dharma means to hold people BTW- Im sure you guys knew that Anyway- Abaddon is the head of the realm of the dead. For some reason the dead on the island are not your average ghost (Charlie slaps Hurley, he feels it) Everyone on the island is dead. All the passengers are dead. According to abaddon there are no survivors. Which means Jack, kate, John...all dead Ben discovers this about the island and "knows too much" That's why Abaddon wants him Something is protecting ben from Abaddon's wrath The original pilot discovers that the pilot on the airplane is not who they claim he is I think this is a cover up . Another plane was placed there by who to cover up the original survivors.. By who? The drunk pilot wants to investigate- Find Seth? and discovers the survivors Six dead survivors get out of the island. They are not your average ghost remember so others see them. They were not supposed to leave Abaddon is angry wants them back part of the team is a ghost whisperer. He can talk to the dead. Ben wonders why the babies dont survive. Because they are in the realm of the dead. There are some things that dont fit...i know but I thought I'd ramble anyway Oh and maybe the onnly way to get out of the island will be to kill themselves...I knw they are dead. Jack wants to kill himself I think the person in the casket is someone who tried to kill themselves to get back into the island. Okay ...please be gentle with your replies i'm a sensitive girl

| I think it is a descent theory. The writers have insisted that this is NOT Purgatory as was one of the initial theories. Personally I have a suspician that the some kind of land of the dead thing may be PART of the LOST mythology. Part me wonders if the writters were pissed that people figured it out so quickly and have made up lots of stuff to throw us off track, but in the end it might just be a purgatory like place. I don't think there will turn out to any one all incompacing theory for LOST but rather many different ones that address different aspects of the show. If LOST ends up being a big religious allegory I will be really angry. It had better not be a relegious moral.

| I like several parts of this theory. The ghost whisperer part is an interesting portion. However, everyone else is interacting w/people on the island. The Oceanic 6 make it back to the continental US just fine. They are very real people in the flash-forwards we've seen. They're tangible, alive and physical in every way. The purgatory/dead part is something I don't buy. I keep going back to a comment by Lindeloff & Cuse about the very first episode, the pilot, and both of them have said we're all overlooking something very important. I've watched the pilot probably 10 times now. It does seem impossible for these people to have survived the impact and violence of the crash without major injuries. However, they seem very alive by all accounts. Finally, the fact that Juliet was brought to the island means one of two things...either the Others killed her when they drugged her (explaining why she was "asleep" on the way to the island) or the people on the island are NOT dead. Fun to think about though, great post MsDee. |
