| Member | I am new to this so sorry if this has been brought up. but a thought crossed my mind and I thought I would share it. The final episode in May 2010 ends with Jack and Kate laying down in the caves to die. Thus becoming the Adam And Eve bones found in season one. |

| 1st of all how do you know what happens on the very last episode? They haven't even written it yet. And 2nd of all if that's true I'm upset now because I'll know how it ends.

| Because if they didn't have clothes, how do we know they were male and female. It seems a bit predictable that they are Jack and Kate --so what a big time loop? |

| Member | I watched season one house of the rising sun when they find the adam and eve bones Jack say "it take 40 or 50 years for clothing to debris like this" he reaches for a pouch he finds on the male, pulls out a black and white rock then stuffs it in his pocket. after a brief conversation with Locke and Charlie and a Sun/Jin flashback, Jack says to Kate " these caves are too important for just burial.....water.....shelter.....I think we can live here" |

| I agree with your theory, I had the same idea about a month ago: http://forums.buddytv.com/lost-theor...-adam-eve.html It makes sense, mainly because Jack took the stones. It's possible that he and another person (maybe Kate? Juliet? Who knows...) somehow take a trip back in time and die in that cave. I'm not a huge fan of the timebending theories but I think it's clear this kind of stuff (like time travel) is going to happen. Also, the producers have stated that the "Adam and eve" skeletons are critical to the timeline of the island in a way that will be revealed at the end of the series. This is from Lostpedia:
LINDELOF: There were certain things we knew from the very beginning. Independent of ever knowing when the end was going to be, we knew what it was going to be, and we wanted to start setting it up as early as season 1, or else people would think that we were making it up as we were going along. So the skeletons are the living -- or, I guess, slowly decomposing -- proof of that. When all is said and done, people are going to point to the skeletons and say, "That is proof that from the very beginning, they always knew that they were going to do this." http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Adam_And_Eve The "Not in Portland" Eater Egg is of course Mittelos which is an anagram for Lost Time. I'm with you on this one. MH |

| Just to let you know that it is possible to distinguish between male and female skeletons (pelvis bones are shaped differently) and Jack, being a doctor, would be able to see this. |

| I really find it too predictable that it will be Jack and Kate. Its too romantic and english patienty. It would be a sappy way to end the show. I think it will have to be someone we don't expect or a couple who are not romantically involved yet, but might become so. Maybe its Jack and Claire. (incest!!) |

| There is two reasons why this will likley not be it. #1 So if we were to actually watch scene like this it wouldnt make pratical sense. So they lie down in the caves to die right? The only thing is that they would lie down next to the skeleton's of adam and eve. Remeber the skeletons are there already, so it wouldnt be a revelation or anything it would just be a fitting place to die. #2 Adam and Eve are revealed in season 1. At the time they were shooting season 1, time travel was not going to be part of the show (link here: http://www.scifi.com/sfw/issue406/news.html ) Here is a quote: "I don't think we've shown anything on the show yet ... that has no rational explanation in the real world that we all function within. We certainly hint at psychic phenomena, happenstance and ... things being in a place where they probably shouldn't be. But nothing is flat-out impossible. There are no spaceships. There isn't any time travel." Lindelof Ok and from the a few posts above the producers said they had an idea about the adam and eve from the bieggining, and since in the begining they had no plans of time travel, it must be the adam and eve are people from the past. Also in that link a few posts above, they said they fit into a "timeline" a timeline always asumes time is a straight line. |
